Need new brakes

I was just told that my front bake pads and rotors would cost $750.00 for the front of my 2006 srt8. Back would cost $565.00. Quoted by Chrysler.
They said I cannot buy the pads without the rotors in a kit. Need some input please.

Dont buy them. You can change pads very easily yourself. Get Centric pads or Hawk pads.

I just got 4 new rotors and 4 new pads installed by the dealer for my C.
Plus tires rotated, oil and fluids changed and topped up... $1,076 Canadian.

I have a 300C and would like my brakes to be more "grabby" like a BMW, Acura, or "sportier" car. Is the SRT8 like that? If so, does anyone know if I can just install the SRT8 brakes / rotors / pads? If not compatible, can anyone recommend how to do this? I love the 300C, just would like a little quicker response on braking.

How many miles? I would hope rotors aren't needed 'til about 100K miles. Pads replaced and rotors turned probably every 30K-40K. Don't know for sure, but I'd bet "Horsefeathers!" Rotors turned and ceramic pads on my Ram for just a tick over $400

If you want brakes like the srt8 you will have to upgrade the front system to either brembo Brembo Gran Turismo 300/Magnum/Charger Kit or stoptech Chrysler 300C Products: StopTech big brake kits, stainless steel braided brake lines, Tires. Upgrading pads and rotors will not make the feel of the 300c come close to the srt8 braking. However, it will make it feel better than stock.

#1 do not believe that dealer. Rotors are out there, factory Mopar slotteds are less than 80 bucks! See our vendors section.

Stock Jurid pads are expensive, dusty, but the absolute best at stopping the car from high speeds. There are dozens of aftermarket selections available in many different flavors.

Despite what they tell you, this car is one of the easiest brake jobs ever.

Do not expect rotors to last too long with the stock pads. A simple thickness measurement tells you whether they need replacing.

agreed!!!! i've never changed brake pads before and i did it on my SRT/8. there is a great HOW TO on this forum. you could get four pads for under $200. when it's time to change my rotors i'm going to use one of our supporting vendors.

here's a great link for you:

Where could i find brake pads for the 300c srt8?

SRT8-style braking for 300C (not SRT8)

NYC_SRT8, thanks for the info. You mentioned I would need to replace the front. Does that mean the rear is already up to the same "standard" as the SRT8? If so, this means I need to buy the whole kit (thanks for the links) for the front system and then just replace the rotors and the pads on my car's rear system? Please confirm. Happy New Year!

The SRT8 has Brembos front and rear.

They are 1 piece rotors and OEM calipers.

The Brembo & Stoptech kits are two piece floating rotors with much bigger calipers, pads and rotors.

The bigger the better.

I fitted a Brembo GT front kit (14" rotors + 4 piston calipers) a while back and it made a huge difference.

I recently fitted a Brembo GT rear kit (13.5" rotors + 4 piston calipers) and the braking is absolutely incredible at high speeds.

The Stoptech kit is slightly cheaper, the two traders on here Dave (Stoptech) and Aaron (Brembo) are extremely helpful and will be able to answer your questions regarding price etc.

If you cannot afford a full kit, do it in parts like I did, you won't regret it.

Its seriously one of the best mods you will ever do and well worth the money!
