Thumbs up SRT-8 Replacement Brake Pads: Available through Schucks Auto Parts?

Hello everyone, please read that this only in regards to SRT8 BRAKE PADS. For those that want OE pads, dust, scoring, and all we run into a big problem, the dealer. A local dealer in the Seattle area has quoted me over $400.00 for just pads. I refuse to pay that much when I bought my SRT8 with the mindset "performance bargin". Dave Z. has a nice package for under $200, but I prefer the aggressive nature of the OE pads. Call me crazy, but I prefer maximum stopping power over low dust and scoring.

In my search for OE pads at an affordable price I started with Brembo. No luck, only info on rotors and full systems. Then I heard the reference of Jurid being thrown around in pad discussions. I looked it up and found it to be Bendix's European brand name. Going to Bendix I looked up our app and came up with front and rear pads that have matching Chrysler part numbers. They are SRT8 specific and have the rear shims. I took those part numbers to Online Auto Parts and Auto Accessories Store at PartsAmerica.com (CSK Auto Parts) and presto!, came up with matching OE pads for cheaper than Dave Z.'s posi-quiets. Not knocking Dave's product, just not my cup of tea.

I'm pretty sure all of my research lines up, but feel free to point out any holes in my story. My goal here was to find OE pads that don't include dealer mark-up or the cost of an inefficient supply chain in the price. Below are the part numbers and prices.

OE SRT8 Brake Pads

Front: $65.99
Bendix: MKD1149
Chrysler: 5174311AC
Rear: $65.99
Bendix: MKD592A
Chrysler: 5174327AA

Brembo pads

Found a dealer on ebay out of Cal. that has Genuine Brembos for 75.00
Item number: 270205828091. I think I'm going to try Satisfied when mine are spent. I had good luck with them on other vehicles. Anyone tried them on their SRT?

Just put Satisfied Ceramics on my Jeep along with R1 drilled and slotted rotors.

Very low dust, still have some squeal, and after 2 weeks they stop about 90% as well as the OEM brakes.

I also bought a set of Satified GS6 pads, which came after I had got the fronts done. I may swap them out in a few weeks. Damn Canadian company had Dec. 14 - Jan. 2nd off.

My squeal springs started sounding on Dec. 17.

TTop find mate. Well done. And Bendix pads are awesome quality too.

Here in Australia OEM pad replacements can cost up to $900.00. Top find.

Did you mention you did not want the low dust pads from Zeckhausen Racing (That was a cut and paste, not a plug).

I've seen plenty of good things from them on this forum, I have about 50% left, once I run through those, take a chisel to my brake dust, I plan on having these installed.

Great find! Dealership quoted me $740 for just the front and rear pads. Parts America for just over $100 is incredible!

Anyone here order the fronts and then try to install them to see if they are correct? The website says they are currently out of the fronts, and one other person said they did get the fronts and they did not fit.

Anyone?

Eric

not

I would expect this is NOT truth. The pads are listed incorrectly at NAPA as well, and what they really are is 5.7 300C parts.

Would love to be wrong!

I decided to get them through DaveZ. Not much chance of them being wrong from him and they are only $80 more . . . a lot less than the $740 at the Stealership

I think you'll be quite happy with the Posi Quiet pads just like 99% of us are. The 1% who want the OEM pads don't give a damn about the dust and squeal. The rest of us do.

Here's Dave's How To - How-To: Installing low-dust brake pads on an SRT8. This will be the easiest brake job you'll ever do. Don't forget to bed your brakes afterwards.
