Budget brakes for my 300 touring

I would like some advice as to what components I should pick up for a budget brake upgrade.

I will most likely start with the front because that is what will be seeing the most action. My plan for that is as follows

Swap the calipers for the 300c model
Install some HAWK ceramic pads
Look into ss braided lines
look into rotors

I know the back will be modded and i know that will require new rotors as well as calipers when going from a solid to a vented rotor which is much thicker.

i have a converter for the E85. i haven't been using E85 for a little while. members have been scaring me about using it. plus the mileage bites. i'm going to replace the fuel lines, fuel rails and injectors.

you ever do the math for the cost to mpg ratio?

For reference the new tahoe gets 14mpg on unleaded and 10mpg on e85

@ 2.40 per gallon on e85 you get 4.16 miles for ever $1.00 spent...plus you pay for your conversion kit, as well as your convenience of having to refuel more often.

@ 3.15 per gallon on regular you get 4.44 miles for ever $1.00 spent

e85 is just as nasty to the environment as regular unleaded and produces less energy during combustion which results in the low mpg's

just some food for thought!

this, and the debate on how bad it may or may not be on the fuel lines, is why stopped using it.

Its supposed to be the American way to break dependence with foreign oil (yea right!) by using 85% ethanol which is produced from corn and 15% dino juice. Its a poor effort towards a better fuel alternative IMO. Its a little cheaper then regular unleaded fuel @ 2.40-50 per gallon versus 3.00-3.20 for regular.
