Thumbs up 300Touring...intermittent brake squeak...

I have less than 3k miles on my 300 and am noticing intermittent squeaks on the passenger side as I press lightly on my brake pedal (can not determine whether front/rear.

I just wanted to know if anyone else was noticing this on their vehicles and I wanted to address this issue and locate the root of the problem before I start having major issues, if any.

This should be covered under warranty...I just don't want to take it to a dealership and have the technician say, "that's normal".

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Although a few others have also experienced similar brake noise with other models as well, I personally haven't experienced such a problem to date with mine. Although my car is now six months old, I still have only less than half of the mileage as yours has. Irregardless, I'd still take it to the dealer anyway, even if they advise you that everything appears to be 'normal'. If nothing else, at least you'll have this problem documented via your dealer...just in case it develops into something worse later on.

Have you tried bedding the brakes? The vast majority of "bank teller window squeal" is caused by failing to bed the brakes. The industry spends tens of millions of dollars per year on unnecessary warranty replacement of rotors and/or pads when all they needed to do was take the car down the road and really romp on those brakes hard. Here are step-by-step instructions for brake bedding: http://www.zeckhausen.com/bedding_in_brakes.htm. I'm willing to bet this cures your problem.

Keep in mind that you need to get those rotors hot. Doing just two braking events from 60mph, then doing the rest later won't do the trick. It's not like exercise where you can get benefits from exercising 10 minutes at a time, several times a day. If you don't complete the bedding process all at once, it's as if you didn't do anything at all. Give it a shot and let us know if that fixes the problem.

Just so happens that I did not need to bed my brakes at all...I went to Discount tire and had them balance my tires and it worked out! No squeakie squeakie...I also took my car in for 3k service and they aligned my vehicle...car runs great and looks even better....
