good brakes.... yeah good brakes too.....

oh man, these Wilwood brakes are the $hit..

this afternoon I went to lunch, I was traveling in the middle of 3 lanes on a city "highway" (not a freeway, an open city street), doing about 40 - 45mph (speed on this street is 50mph), and this idiot in some little ricer thing, decides that he HAS to be in my at exactly the same time as me, and darts across me, then comes to a dead stop (no freaking idea why).

was maybe 1 1/2 car lengths behind him, 35 - 50 feet tops... when he cut in front of me I removed my foot from the gas and covered the brake, force of habit from riding a motorcycle, anticipate the moves of those around you..

I slammed on the brakes, and holy crap.. I have never felt the brakes on the 300 grab so hard and tight and just force the car to a stop..

along with the upgraded suspension, sway bars, end links and bushings, no nose dive, no rear ass lift, the car just stopped... PERIOD.....

I mean on a dime, I was a hairs breath from his bumper and the 300 just STOPPED.. don't even know how to describe it..... never felt anything like it..

no pedal pulsing from the ABS, no front nose dive, no fighting, no pulling to the right or left, just a dead on straight stop.... from 40ish to 0 in maybe 50 - 60 feet...

not even any tire squeal.. it was unreal..

I'm so loving these Wilwoods..

Glad you avoided a rearend. Maybe it was one of those insurance set-ups... you know the kind All State shows in the one commercial of theirs. May we assume there was somewhat of a discussion AFTER the stop? Just curious...

nope no discussion, I waited for retard to move (laid on the horn for a minute) and preceded along to my food stop... not too sure what his deal was, some stupid kid in a ricer.. I kinda thought maybe he stalled it, but I don't recall hearing a starter crank..

don't know.. luckily no one was behind me though...

Nice driving is the start of every good brake set up, and it seems that you've got it!

The Wilwoods do look like a hell of a brake set, I'm torn between them and APs when I have a small fortune laying around to buy a new brake system.

Sounds an awful lot like a "swoop and slam" setup to me.
