If you want good factual information about drilled and / or slotted rotors, the posts in this thread by Dave Z are required reading (Dave runs Zeckhausen Racing):

The 'average' consumer will probably do fine with drilled or drilled and slotted (a redundant format but all the rage) for normal street use. And occasional autocross activities etc.

For those considering serious open track use the drilled rotor will present unique challenges. Like preventing premature cracking. It's really nothing to do with who did it or how but rather the problems associated with thermal expansion. Drawing cool air past a very hot surface in this case and the inability of the rotor to expand at a given rate is the main cause of cracks. Small spider cracks around the holes are common on many rotors- in time they'll get larger.

In all honesty I don't think this vehicle is one that will see the extended track use for most folks.
