Brake rotors

I am looking at purchasing EBC slotted rotors....but I have a question...

I have a 2005 Chrysler 300C...currently in the shop for a transmission service/flush so i cant answer my questions by walking out to my car...

Do our cars come factory with the VENTED brake rotors? I am assuming so. I am given the option that when purchasing EBC brake rotors it will only fit the factory VENTED rotors.
I think what I am finding is that the V6 models all had solid rotors and the HEMI cars all had vented? Correct?

I am thinking no on this one... I believe that all '05-'06 300's came with solid rotors. The SRT's had a recall due to noisy and dusty brakes and they were switched to vented/slotted rotors. It's probably giving you an option for the 300C SRT rotors would be my guess. Of course this is purely speculation.

Yes, vented. The base V-6's came with solid rears. The 3.5s and 5.7s are vented.

Don't confuse vented with cross-drilled and / or slotted. They mean different things.

A venting is the machining between the inner and outer faces of the rotor plate, running around the circumference, that act as sort of a vaned turbine to move air into and out of the rotor body for cooling.

I sort of figured I was reading it right about the vented rotors.
I knew about the fins. I just didn't have my car to check due to the tranny service.
A friend of mine that owns a parts store with his dad has offered me one hell of a deal on slotted and cross drilled EBC rotors and ceramic pads for$300. It was an order that was not picked up because the person that ordered it was busted and sent to prison. Kind of a strange circumstance... But my gain I suppose.

That's a hell of a deal! I'd jump on that for sure.

I have EBC, dimple and groved and highly recommend EBC red ceramic pads. You can add MGP brake caliper covers if you like.
