Traded 300C for SRT8. Selling StopTech brakes ($2,140 off), Magnum RT wheels, tires

I traded my 2005 300C in yesterday for a 2006 SRT8. Before handing the 300C over to the dealer, I took off my 4-wheel StopTech big brake kit, my Magnum/Charger 18" wheels and BF Goodrich gForce KDWS tires and returned everything back to stock condition. Now I'm selling all those goodies.

If you want anything, send me an email at david@zeckhausen.com. First person to send an email gets the item(s). I'm selling:
  • StopTech 4-wheel big brake kit ($2995)
  • Magnum/Charger factory 18" wheels with BFG g-Force T/A KDWS tires for $800
  • Factory Continental 225/60-18 tires (nearly brand new) for $55 each

The StopTech 4-wheel brake kit is in perfect condition with less than 8,000 miles on it. It was $5135 new and I'm selling it for $2,140 off that price: $2995. The brakes come with red 4-piston calipers, slotted floating rotors, stainless steel braided brake lines, and Hawk Performance Ceramic (low dust) brake pads. Everything has been cleaned up carefully and packed into original StopTech boxes. Installation manuals are included, or I can install the brakes for you if you are local to Maplewood, New Jersey. These brakes fit under your stock 18" wheels.

Here are some StopTech brake kit photos and discussion:

The Magnum RT wheels were purchased as new take-offs with the Continental 225/60-18 tires for $1200. I replaced the tires with BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDWS tires in 245/55-18 for much better handling and braking. The tires have very little wear on them. Tread depth is 5.5mm. The wheels are perfect with no scratches or curb rash. I'll take $800 for the set, including the g-Force KDWS tires. Pick-up locally or pay for UPS shipping anywhere in the USA.

Here they are on my car:

and here's a shot over the StopTech brakes:

Finally, I have two sets of the original Continental tires. One is self-sealing, the other is not:

Tire Rack sells these tires for $110 each. I'll sell them for $55 each. They have only a few hundred miles on them. Pick up in Maplewood, NJ or I'll ship via UPS.

{Edited on 12/3/2005 to lower wheel/tire package price from $1200 to $800}

One set of OEM tires is now spoken for. The self-sealing OEM tires are still available. And, of course, the StopTech brakes and Magnum RT/Charger wheels & tires.

They also have a very different pedal feel than the stock brakes - much firmer and less pedal travel. I had nearly forgotten the improvement, since you get used to anything eventually. But when I swapped the brakes back to stock in preparation for handing the 300C over to the dealer (in trade for the SRT8), I could not beleive how terrible the stock brakes felt! It took a while for me to be convinced I hadn't done a poor job bleeding the calipers.

When I first bought the 300C, I remember thinking the brakes were a little soft, but still better than most. After driving around with the StopTech brakes, it was a shock to go back. There really is room for dramatic improvement in pedal feel. And, as StopTech's track testing showed, there's room for improvement in stopping distance too: http://www.300cforums.com/forums/44167-post18.html

I was just checking out eBay to see about selling my wheel/tire package and I've noticed the price of nearly new take-off Magnum/Charger wheels has come way down since last summer. I paid $1200 for my wheels (before I installed the BF Goodrich gFroce T/A KDWS tires) and they can now be had for hundreds less than that.

So I dropped the price of my wheel/tire package from $1200 to $800. That gets you four 18" Magnum/Charger wheels in perfect condition. No blemishes, scratches or curb rash. And it gets you four BF Goodrich gForce T/A KDWS tires in 245/55-ZR18 size with lots of remaining tread life. These are MUCH better handling tires than the original skinny "grand touring" tires that came on the car.

This is probably the wrong time of year to be selling a summer wheel/tire package, but I want them out of the basement. I need to make room for all my SRT8 goodies.

I still have one set of nearly new (just a few hundred miles) OEM tires. These are the self-sealing ones. The other set is gone already. $55 each plus shipping. These should be gone by now at this price!

And, of course, the StopTech brakes are still here. These are as good as new, but $2,000 less than you would pay for new.

I have to agree 100%, its actually one of the things that I added to the "22inch Myths" thread in the wheels section. The addition of 4inches to the circumference of a wheel and tire package needs to be offset with upgraded braking components, optimally a full brake system (ie, StopTech, Brembo, etc), but at the very least, upgraged OEM rotors, pads, stainless steel lines and fluid!

Good luck with the sale.

Are the StopTech Brakes still available? Not sure if I will pull the trigger, but would like to know if they have sold yet. Thanks.
