Angry Has anyone had to deal... (MOVED)

Has anyone had to deal as a seller with deadbeat buyers??? Over the last month or so I posted a bunch of parts for sale described as accurately as possible with all info as far as cost and shipping and even some pics, it couldn't be easier! I have had many other members offer to buy from me only to keep me on the line for a few days while I turn other offers away and then come back and say oh I had an emergency, I can't buy it right now or anymore. Come on! If you changed your mind fine, I can deal with that but don't keep me hanging while you are deciding. Either contact me if you are ready to buy or don't waste my time. As soon as someone stated they were "really" interested in buying I would right away get the item packed and ready to ship with plans to ship asap on my lunch break the next day once the transaction was completed. It wastes my time if you haven't decided completely and I lose out because I turn down other offers in fairness to the person who contacted me first. I even have a "member" right now who has kept me hanging for 2 weeks now and even said he was going to complete the deal that day after I questioned his true interest in purchasing. Yeah, that was 3 days ago and still nothing so pretty much, that deal is dead as far as I'm concerned. All I'm asking is for some courtesy among fellow members. To those who have purchased from me, have I not made every effort to stay in contact with dealings and shipping info., etc.? I would expect the same courtesy from prospective buyers. Thanks for reading this to those that care.

I hear ya, man! I am in the process of selling my NAV unit here, an item which I figured would sell immediately but all I'm getting is exactly what you're talking about. Either it's a lowball offer or the person just says yeah I'll take it and then the day comes where they are supposed to send a payment and it's "sorry, financial restraints have stopped me from buying this, sorry!" Why even waste your and my time?

If your dealing w/ people over email you might want to allowing incoming mail. I tried to reply to your email and it said you didn't accept incoming messages. Might help make things more smooth. Check your pm, unfortunately the item I was interested in isn't what I need. Thanks!

I just want to apologize to all the thread viewers in advance for getting upset....

Larry:

You dont have to be a ****...Not only did I contact you and tell you that I couldnt buy the NAV unit, I sincerely apologized for wasting your time! I then apologized to the WHOLE THREAD for wasting their time as well, when you could have had other potential buyers buy your item.Apparently I wasnt wasting ANYONE's time because YOUR NAV STILL HASNT SOLD YET! I kept in touch with you 100% and like I just said apologized for it!!!. .

Im sure Smooth will be able to agree with me that if im going to purchase something I get it done. I told smooth I was going to buy his emblems and the next day a Money Order was sent out!

In any case:

Sometimes Emergencies DO HAPPEN when it comes to money...Maybe you guys are so well off that money is not an issue in everyday life, but people like me at the low end of the totem pole do not (in Larries case) have hundreds to throw around on insignificant things such as Nav units that are Not a necessity. Where as car payments, credit cards, rent, food, etc ARE a necessity. I still wish I was able to buy that NAV unit, however I made a mistake and I apologized for it.

Now I do agree that there are some dead beat buyers out there. And there always will be (I myself got burned 4+ times on ebay with selling the same item!). But I felt it was a priority to respond to this thread in defense of those people that have 100% intent to buy, however something came along that did NOT allow them to do so. I know the world sucks, but there are a few honest people out there that have great intentions that cannot set the ball in motion so to speak.

Im very upset with Larry's post. It was definatly wrong and uncalled for to mock me. Please check out the thread and if im wrong please PLEASE tell me...maybe I am and im not understanding....

However I personally think I went over and beyond what was necessary to pull out of a transaction and im not going to sit here and read this without telling my side of the story or defending myself.

I dont like starting arguments, ESP. ONLINE! I thinks its crazy...and im sure this is going to start arguments, but whatever.

Mike

Guys,
Sell your stuff on eBay. The rules are very clear that if someone bids on something they are committed to purchase if they win.
If they flake on the buy, their eBay rating is in jeopardy.
Same goes for the seller. Just because the seller didn't get what they expected to get for the item, a deal is a deal and they have to let it go for the price it closed at.
Incomplete deals are a PITA for both parties, and I have dealt with many, but none on eBay.

I actually wasn't mocking you...I'm pretty suprised you took it as me talking about you. I actually got this from somebody else, I thought you gave me a reason for not being able to buy the item? Didn't mean to offend you and sorry if I did...
I have gotten around 15 offers and some of them I accepted and in one case my accepting of the offer went as far as the person telling me they were leaving to the post office to get a M.O - that evening (11/30) I got a PM from them backing out due to financial constraints. I do understand this was similar to what happened with us but again I wasn't referring to you and I apologize for the misunderstanding right here
Larry

For my man Boss300, he did indeed get the deal done ASAP! Thanks for keeping the transaction smooth!!! In fact, I received the MO in like 3 days and I'm sending out the emblems tomorrow. I'm not well off, believe me I live in SoCal where my mortgage is insane for someone trying to live like a normal fella but I do try to plan things to a "T" and when I say something or want to get something done, I do it right then and there quickly and smoothly so as not to waste someone else's or my time. But I have to agree, I did actually hear the same response from many others about an "emergency" that suddenly came up. Just tell me you changed your mine and are not interested anymore, I'm cool with that, but don't leave me hanging saying you're gonna get the deal done as soon as you get home then don't respond for a few days then have your "emergency" (speaking generally of course!!!). Bottom line in this case, Boss is a man of his word!

Hey, So OK maybe I will a little hot headed last night, (maybe alot actually) I dont want any bad blood here....These forums are a great place for people like us who want to keep up with the latest happinings with our cars...So with that:

Larry, IM sorry for being a **** in the prior post...When I get upset I say very stupid things, ands that usually not how I am....so sorry again!

Smooth: Cant wait to get the emblems! Thanks again for the smooth transaction....hope to do business with you again! And I defintaly agree with you with the fact that if someone is not going to go through with a purchase to just be a man and say it rather than beating around the bush....those people should be shot! ~

To all....maybe it was (NO IT DEFINATLY WAS) stupid for me to say people are more well off than others...Im sorry, my temper got the best of me.....Hope all is well and cool between all of us....
