This is one thing that truley scares me on this forumn i know i was a newbie once and didnt have a high post count but there are soo many new members joining daily and they have such a low post count but still sell things in the FS section. Not saying everyone is a bad guy for being new but there are those like that wenzel guy that have the ability to open an account here post scam people and move on. For the record i have dealt with a few new people on multiple occasions and never had a problem. But i guess we are always guilty of giving people the benefit of the doubt when we know we should get our money re-funded through paypal or file a claim.
you dont get ur money back through paypal all he has to do is call his credit card company and dispute the charge and he will get his money back, simple

you can file a formal complaint with paypal. once you do, it gives the seller a week to provide shipping information (tracking number) for the item you bought from him. if in that time he doesn't provide that information, you are automatically refunded the amount you sent. paypal is usually pretty good about protecting buyers more so than sellers, so I wouldn't hesitate to file a complaint through them.

Thanks for all of the comments... Paypal is usually pretty good about claims, but you have to file within a certain period of time after payment has been sent. Also, I unfortunately cannot call my credit card to dispute the charge, as the payment was sent out of the balance already in my paypal account.

All in all, I think the system we have is fine. Something like this is just the risk you take when you buy from someone you don't know very well. You need to always ask for references or feedback, either from other people he's done transactions with or Ebay feedback. Also, it helps if the person selling the part will send/post a picture of the actual part, and put a piece of paper in the picture with his name/forum name, and the date of the picture. It's pretty good evidence that he actually has the part he's selling.

I still have (some) faith that maybe one day this part will miraculously show up, but I'm not holding my breath. If the guy was in that much of a bind that he needed $60 to make it through the day, then he can consider it my gift. I'll write it off as a charitable donation...

Hi all,

I first off want to apologize to Phattpat, what I did was wrong and uncalled for. The thing with my dad was true and with the USPS sending back the package... after that I just got lazy and didn't send it (didn't wanna go there on my lunch break) with all this all i can say is that I am an ass... I haven't done this on Ebay and I feel horrible... It was sent on the 20th of February and I want to express my deepest apologize. If I am not a Man of my word, then what do I have left... Again I ask for your forgiveness.
