Is this a good price for wheels?

Found a guy in Calgary that will offer 300c owners the following:

22x9.5 TIS 07 Chrome
Kumho STX 265/35/22
$4000 inc tax, mount, balance, lugs.

Is this a good deal?

OH MY GAWD

He just emailed me these flyers:

I'm thinking that the $4000 is a very good price, considering that anything from the US will have the GST, Duty and Shipping extra...and if these are going for $3000usd, than I'm thinking that would equate to approx $4300cdn which means thats the first time I've seen a CDN pricing beat out the US pricing

I just sent him an email and was wondering if he would do a GB for us Canadians...that is if we can get the interest.

www.buywheelstoday.com is a supporting vendor of this forum that sells TIS. Felix makes many posts on here. You might just shoot him a message about cost and shipping to CAN.

There is no duty on tires shipped from the US to Canada.

EDIT: that may be wrong. check out this thread:

Tires are actually 6.5% if not made in the duty free countries...most of the tires are coming from overseas (Japan, China, etc) which means you will get charged if there is no NAFTA certificate accompanying the package...same goes with the rims. I guess the paperwork better be in order before they ship everything out.

Regarding US to Canada duties, the key is origin of manufacture. The sender must include a declaration of origin.

I shipped tires from "The Tire Rack" with no issue and duty free.

You will need to pay GST but that would occur in Canada as well as the US to essentially neutral.

The only difference would be exchange rate and shipping.

My shipping for 4 tires was only $120 +/-

Good Luck

Tis

We are an authorized dealer for TIS, and I would say that the price is a bit high, but if you can find the TIS07, it might not be too bad as these arent readily available around here. I couldnt even get them for my own vehicle.

As you know the Cdn dollar is flying high these days, and I might check with Canada Customs to see where you stand and then do the math on everything. I think this price is fairly high, but then I'm not a wheel man and am happy with my OEM's.
