Talking Resinators:Keep Em' or Get Rid of Em' 300C

Wanted to know if anyone out there new anything about resinators. I've heard that it makes it sound better, but will it affect the performance of the car in anyway shape or form and will it pass emissions in Ontario? If anybody knows anything pls let me know.....

Definitely a performance enhancer. I live in Ontario and do not expect any issues with emissions tests (that's what the catalytic converters are for).

Here is a thread with lots of info along with sound and vid clips:

Inexpensive Exhaust Modification

NR is right, I paid $750+ for an aftermarket exhaust which I had removed 3 days later (I would have done it the same day if they had time). Noise and racket is subjective, the one thing that is not is the sound in MDS. It puttered like a civic on 3 cyl with a bad muffler or perhaps a golf cart.

Patrick and I have been here for a long time and I wish I had taken his advice back then. If you don't like the resonator chop, it is a cheap easy return to stock. IMHO, DO NOT GO THROUGH THE EXPENSE OF AN EXHAUST UNLESS YOU GO FOR A RIDE IN A C WITH THAT EXHAUST. This is the voice of experience talking, I earned a PhD on that one (pain, heartache, and disappointment, too bad it was not pride, hustle, and determination).

Not that I know. And - remember, this is a procedure you can reverse if you want to, later.

The resonators are there to silence the MDS drone. You might take a look at the thread touting removal of the "suitcase" muffler instead of the resonators. Beefs up the sound somewhat, and keeps the no drone in MDS. At least that's whay they are saying.

Just had mine removed on my SRT8, so no MDS drone. Definitely like the sound, and the price. Midas charged me $150 and kept the factory SRT8 tips!

I'll have to check into this. I find the car to be a tad too quiet. I certainly don't want it to sound like my RAM did, with the 14" Magnaflow muffler and exhaust, even though it sounded great on the RAM, just may be too much for the 300. Unless I hear one first, then that's a different story, of course. IMHO.
