Too much Cowtown!

I can't take it any more! I had to post here just to get 1 person from Edmonton listed in this thread. I can't beleive how many Calgary posts there are, and not one single Edmonton post.

I actually don't even live in Edmonton (about 40 mins north), but do work in Edmonton, so this counts as a post from an Edmonchuk person! That makes the score about 60 to 1 in favor of Calgary

There, I feel better now LOL

Haha, too funny. Well I don't live in Edmonton, but I was born there. I left in 71 to go and wear a uniform. Went back about 10 years ago and was amazed how it looks like a Dodge City now with all the liquor stores, private motor vehicle offices or whatever they're called and violence. Lets not even talk about the gangs there and we all know who they are. Don't care if I ever return either. Easy city to make your way around and almost impossible to get lost though.

Rambit, that is kind of funny. I am originally from just outside Windsor (Belle River), and moved here in the late 70's (who didn't though LOL). It seems like we're moving in opposite directions eh.

I found coming from Windsor, which really is very much like London, that Edmonton seemed better to me. Cleaner air, nice parks and river valley, close to mountains (although not as close as that darn Calgary), and the people here were beyond friendly.

You are right though, Edmonton has changed quite a bit in the last 25 years. The people have gotten older and crabbier, there are more gang problems, but no where near as bad as they make it sound on the news etc. I would still walk down mainstreet at 3am without much worry of being hassled. In the last 15 years, I have lived in smaller towns, and now on an acerage. The people in the smaller towns are still the same fantastic "old Albertan" types. There is definately a different attitude in this province, which I kind of like. It's probably a good idea to keep the rednecks all in one province if possible, to spare the people in all the other provinces LOL (Just kidding, we're not all rednecks...the rest are still in training LMAO)

Anyway, it still appears as though the poeple in Edmonton either can't read, or don't have internet access or something, because we still don't have any other Etown postings in this thread yet. London has more posts then Edmonton for Pete's sake!!

Mopar Car Show

Reply from Larry Meet Organizer
We do welcome all Mopar products to our show. Normally we don't get many vehicles newer than 1975, with the exception of PT Cruisers, which we have special awards for. That being said we do offer two awards for best vehicle newer than 1975.. You can display your vehicles in non-competition for $10.00 or in the trophy class for $20.00, your choice. Everyone is eligible for a dash plaque & door prizes! Hope to see you on the 19th between 9:00 & noon.
Larry.
