Looking for a store that sells RIMS in the Edmonton area
Hi;
I am getting tired of looking for a new set of rims on-line. I need to actually see the rims in person I think to get a better feel for them. I live in the Edmonton area, and was hoping one of our memebers would know a good store in the area where I could go, view some rims, and talk to a knowledgable person about which ones would be right for my 300C.
I know we don't have that many members in Edmonton, but if anyone has dealt with a store in the past, and would recommend them, please let me know their name/location.

New member here.. I live on an acreage near Spuce Grove and would love to find a rim supplier that can provide an 18" wheel for my car as well. It takes several days to get my subdivision plowed and it would be useless to try and get out to the dry pavement with the supercars I have on the car right now ! I would like to install some Blizzaks on 18's as shown on this forum elsewhere. The guy got them from Tire Rack and I cant find a Canada phone # for them. Let me know if you find a good wheel supplier with stock in Alberta!!
Hi Rob;
Welcome to the Forum! It's always good to have another "near" Edmonton member. I'm not actually from Edmonton either, I'm on an acerage north of Gibbons myself. I know what you mean about winter driving outside the city. With the 3 or 4 weeks of snow we've had lately, our back roads just got plowed for the first time on Friday. Needless to say, we mostly drive the truck until the roads get cleared.
I drove last winter with the origingal tires (continentals) on our car, and it was a nightmare to say the least. This spring I put some Goodyear Comfort Treads on the C, and what a difference! They are a good all round tire for summer and winter, as long as there is less the 8" of snow on the ground, and that's more of a problem with the car sitting so low than the tires.
My plan was to find some 18" rims to put the Goodyears on, and then keep the OEM rims for real snow tires. I know there must be some decent stores in Edmonton that sell rims, but I don't know of any myself. Plus, I would like to hear from someone with experience from the store, to make sure they back up what they sell. I'll let you know if I find anything, and please do the same for me if you run across a good one.

Hi Guys,I,m also a new member,from Spruce Grove by the way,so your not alone up here in the cold,snowy,lost traction again North.I bought my 300C SRT8 about a week and half ago,Black with pretty well most options.Well almost everyone except,tires for winter.Not really an option,but a mental break down on my part ,not checking to see if there are winter tires available for the T8.Anyway I,ve been watching these threads, after I bought,and have also been to every dealer in Spruce Grove,and I,m finding as eveyone else is, it,s tough to find a tire.
I found a Pirelli 265/40/20 and 255/45/R20 Scorpion Ice & Snow that should fit the rear,but the front could be a problem.What is the maximum width that can be used.
I,ve also tried to find the 18 "Borbet rims to go with Bridgestone Blizzaks,but up until now no local dealers.
I just got a call from my dealer, and they said they had a line on some new 20" winter tires that may fit .Of course he didn,t know what make.I,ll keep you posted.
Daryl
Hi Daryl...And welcome to the forum to you too!! Cold enough for ya?? LOL
I'm not even sure what tires come with the SRT8, my car is a C, and they were 18" conti's, which I think is a french word that means Crap! I got less than 40k kms from them, and the last 15k were pushing it.
I haven't done any research on the 20" tires, but there are several members on the forum from Canada and the northern US, so I'm sure people have posted what's good and what's not for the SRT8.
I should mention that I'm jealous of your T8 by the way!! I would have loved one too, but the C is really my wifes daily driver, so she got the final say, and I think she was afraid of the SRT8 power LOL
What I'm really after though is a store in Edmonton or surrounding area that sells 18" rims. I hate the plastic coated "chrome like" OEM rims, and I don't want to put some ricer looking rims on either. If you know of a store, or know someone with good experiences with a store, let me know so I can check them out please.
Once again, welcome to the forum, Congrats on your new car, and use that search function at the top of the page, you won't beleive the information you can find here about your new car!!!
PS - I just remembered. I should have mentioned Trail Tire on Fort Road. I have gone to them for 10 years for tires, and if there is a good tire for the T8 for winter, they will know, and most likely beat the dealer prices by $200 or more. Give them a call and have them look into it for you, I'll bet they can set you up. They really stand behind their work, and you get free rotations, flat repairs etc included in the price.

I had my windows tinted at European Auto Tinting, just off Calgary Trail and Argyll Rd. They had some really sweet rims in the back... try them. They were 22" I believe. I don't know if they will still have them, but they did have a couple sets for sale, and do generally sell tires.
Another kick ass shop for rims and tires is Fastech Tire. They're located on 97st. and 47Ave. I used to manage a company with a fleet of trucks, and we used them for our tires all the time. I was in there a couple months back and they were even stocking Foose Rims. They have a very nice selection.
Anybody in the Edmonton area think about meeting up with the 300's sometime? Should start a local 300 Club. Interested, reply on this thread and we'll see where it goes.

Hi Ryan. So we have another Edmonton member! Welcome to the forum! That makes 4 in total, and 3 of us live in the surrounding area, not actually in Edmonton. You would be the first official member from Edmonton that I know of! LOL
Thanks for the tip about Fastech, I'll check them out the next time I'm on the south side. I'm actually looking for a set of 18's, that's why I want to talk to someone with a little knowledge, to make sure they do fit, and someone with some selection, so I can see what they look like in real life. It sounds like Fastech may be a good place to go.
As far as getting together for a meet goes. I'm not to sure we can do much in the next few months with the frikin weather and all. I know for myself, the C has only been getting about 50 kms a week on it. The Ram is getting driven almost 100% now. I think it's a good idea, but we should probably wait until the spring to do anything. Plus, we will have to find a giant location that can hold all 4 memebers LOL
Anyway Ryan, thanks for the rim tip, and welcome once again to the forum. If there's anything I can do to help you out here, just let me know!!

That's funny that I'm the only known member actually in Edmonton. I don't know for sure if Fastech will have 18" for the 300... but my guess, based on what I've seen, is that they will have it, or will be able to get you something. Hopefully we can all meet up sometime. Be sure to keep in touch on here... Also, I hope the others that are from the Edmonton area see these posts. Good luck with the rim hunt.
