I too used musicmatch the first time I tried to burn an mp3 CD and found that if song titles got too long the track would be totally distorted. I also ruined a number of CD's trying to figure out how to get them to stay in the order I wanted, and still have had no success using this software. I do like the way it records off the CD and builds the library.

I have found that the best way to record the mp3's to a CD is by using Nero to record the CD's everything has been in the correct order. It also very easily allows me to record the mp3 CD with folders of each of the CD's I'm burning. So for example with the Beatles you put each album in in own folder and it keepd the songs in order and allows much easier access to each album for playback in your car because you can look at the song list or the folder list for each CD. Also it doesn't seem to matter as much how long the title is. I haven't had any trouble with the songs coming out as digital garbage....yet!

I use music match, remember to burn them as Data discs in order to read the folders. Here is a very important folder issue to remember.

a lot of my older burnt cd's will play in my 300c but i recently tried creating a cd that will not play in my car, and i tried it in another car with a pioneer head unit that wouldnt read it either.it did work in a home cd player though, does this sound like an issue because the songs may be "wma"? if so, is there any way to convert songs already in ITUNES to mp3 if they were already imported as wma?

Yes, I had several songs on MiniDisc that were WMA that burned to MP3 great and some downloaded Wal-Mart WMAs that I could not burn to MP3.

You never read this anywhere but I figured out that the Minidisc WMA burned to MP3 because I burned it to CD first to use in my Rx8 a couple years ago. For some reason by burning the WMA to CD then loading the CD back onto the computer with the exact same songs, they burned to MP3 perfectly. Without burning it to CD first, I kept getting an error message that it would not burn.

I use Music Match and Roxio without problems. Remember to burn as data discs (I use Roxio for this) to organize folders.

To reacp: Burn WMA files as a regular CD, upload the new WMA CD to your computer, burn the newly uploaded files as MP3.

New Zune

My wife bought me a Zune for my birthday. I have three questions I hope someone can answer. #1 Can a song be deleted from the Zune without going through my computer's Zune library? #2 How is the quality of the sound played through a FM transmitter played on your car's stereo? #3 When driving in your local area, do you have to keep switching FM stations to hear your Zune played through your FM transmitter adapter?

Note of the obvious. If you put more stuff on a cd than the rated number of minutes that the CD will hold at CD resolution.....ie. 700mb 80min. That means that th cd is 700mb of storage or 80min of music AT CD RESOLUTION. Therefore if you cram more than 80min or so onto the disk it will be at a resolution less than that of a CD. That is to say... That it will sound CRAPPIER than a CD. You know....................That Clippy harsh digital sounding decay on all of the high frequency stuff. That is the sound of digital compression. This is what happens to Squashed digital sound. So if you want to sound good(as good as CD's sound in the first place).... Go old school, and get a cd changer, $200 .........About 150 songs(that sound good). Or, go new school ie. .....IPod (mp3 player), $200.........about 300 songs at standard CD bitrate. Ultimately, don't let your sound source be your weakest link. For somewhere in the neighborhood of my liquor bill, you could sound good . As a light analogy, you could hump all night. Or, you could make her sound right from the get go! Up to you.

Laters,
-E-

#1. I am going to take a stab and this one. If I am wrong correct me later. I have a Zune... No... you have to go through the library.

#2. Crappy

#3. Yes, you have to keep flipping through.

This is the main reason I bought the iPod integration kit. I love the sound quality. no more MP3's for me. Just rip to the iPod or Zune, and I am off and running.
