I was having trouble with ripping tracks and making CD's using the Windoze Media Player and RealPlayer.

Went looking and found Acoustica MP3 CD Burner v. 4.32 and WOW! This is so easy to use to rip tracks and to burn CD's.

It allows you to identify where you want your ripped tracks to go (What Folder On Your HD or In My Documents). One cool feature I found is that it even creates the folder for newly ripped tracks using the Artist's Name and the Album Name. You don't have to set up any sub-folders under your main folder. It does that automatically.

Burning is as easy as pie. You can view your library within the software, click on the checkbox as you select songs for your burn and it keeps a running total of how many tracks you've selected, their total size to disc and the remaining space you have for adding tracks to your burn CD.

There are plenty of options, too. I'm just not savvy enough to describe them all! Oh, didn't I tell you I am a 'puter twit?

You can get a free 7 day trial then if you decide to buy, it's $19.95. Or you can bundle with some other software, such as an MP3 to WAV converter and other cool tools.

If you have WMA files, which are protected, it can't break the protection and change the file to MP3. I believe iTunes can but I have not tried that yet. I do have a bunch of WMA files that I'd like to convert to MP3 so if anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.

I am a bit technically challenged when it comes to 'puter software but this program was so easy to use even a twit like me was able to rip and burn CD's with ease.

Get latest version of itunes. Go to preferences, advanced, burning. Check the box for include CD text. Works on my REC nav radio and using a mac to burn CD's. Note that some older mac superdrives will not support this feature. It the box is grayed out then that is your problem. Get an external firewire CD drive to fix that problem.

Another way to burn WMA and Ipod files as an MP3 is to burn them as a CD then load it back on the computer. It then can be burned as an MP3. I discovered this by accident when converting my Sony Mini Discs to MP3.

Funny, the things you stumble across. Sorry to jump into this thread so late, but I was looking through the forum for some progress by Mr. Incredible on the cable mod for a backup camera. (How about it guy? Any updates?)

Anyway, I had the same tune problems as everyone listed here. I spent money at iTunes before I realized that I could not use the songs I bought from them where I wanted. I spent some more money and think I fixed that.

First I downloaded "Protected Music Converter" from litexmedia.com for $20. It removes all of the protection. Then I shucked out another $20 for "Total Audio Converter" from CoolUtils.com. It allows you to convert any tune to or from a ton of different file formats.

I know there are probably shareware programs on the net for free that will do all of this, but at some point the time it takes to find them, evaluate if they really work and so on is not worth $40.

I used to use Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 and thought it was pretty good. Then, because I am a sucker for new and improved, I upgraded to CD Creator 8. Big mistake! It was much more difficult to navigate around and figure out what was going on. There were just too many features for me. I got a lite version of Nero with something I bought so maybe I'll try that. Is Nero pretty much the consensus winner?

One more question: I use Word to write my posts, spell check, etc. and I notice my posts are "bolder" or darker than others. Is there a setting I am missing to make them look "normal?"

I went through the program and made sure that the numberical/alphabetic sorting was turned off.

Is this a musicmatch problem that others have experienced?

Thanks

I use Windows Media Player 11 with no problems the burning process is pretty dam fast
