Great news guys! I am out in Las Vegas at the CES show and have found two manufacturers who are releasing solutions for the lx stereos with canbus.
The first company,
www.peripheralelectronics.com is releasing theirs on February 26th (pictures 1 & 2 below)
1) Ipod interface (part CHYP) msrp $199.95 - Features: full text display on factory radios, complete ipod music browsing by artist, album, genre, and playlist, separate aux input, works with video capable ipod, nano, photo, mini, gen4 and gen3 ipods, keeps ipod charged and ready to go, retains digital sound quality.
2) Chrysler "Add aux input" (CHYX) msrp $149.95 - Features: 2 aux inputs selected by factory radio, plugs directly into wiring harness, switched accessory wire included.
3) Chrysler CAN BUS "Add an Amp" (CHYAA) msrp $149.95 - Features: add an amp, plugs directly into existing factory sound system, amp turn on with included (this thing basically splits the preamp signal so you can keep uconnect and nav voice but still get the full range preamp signal for your aftermarket amp - in other words, no need for LC6's and cleansweeps)
4) Chrysler "Add A Head" (CHYAH05) msrp $149.95 (edited from $29.95 which was for the non CAN BUS versions) - Add an aftermarket radio and keep the factory amp & speakers. Includes VSS wire for navigation.
The second company is called
www.pac-audio.com and plans to release their products this month. See picture 3 below.
1) Data Bus Radio Replacement Interface (C2R-CHY) - Allows you to replace the factory radio with an aftermarket radion. Retains factory features and provides +12v accessory wire output.
2) Add amp interface (C2A-CHY) - Allows you to add an amp like #3 above.
3) Aux input (AAI-CHY) - Same as #2 above.
4) Steering Wheel Radio Control Inteface (SWI-CAN) : Retain factory steering wheel controls when replacing the factory radio with aftermarket stereo. NOTE: The SWI-CAN is an add on module to the SWI-X, SWI-PS, SWI-ALP, & SWI-ECL. See website.
5) They also had an ipod solution that looked identical to peripheral's. I didn't capture the part number though.
The products from both companies appear identical other that having different stickers on them. I would expect pricing to be similar.
Enjoy!
