Make the FOB work (in my driveway)....Please

Anyone have a solution to this problem I have. Neither remote will work in my driveway. If I walk around the car I cannot get it to work. If I go away from the car in any direction I have been able to get it to lock the doors, open the trunk, unlock the doors 4 times since I bought the car on Jan. 28th. I have tried this many many times. I have to either let the alarm go off every time I leave or leave the car unlocked so I don't bother the neighbors. This is driving me crazy. Went to the stealer and they say there is no fix they know of. One guy suggested I hold it under my chin. I have held it everywhere... well almost everywhere. They said that they have heard of an occasional FOB that does not work when someone has tried but as soon as the person moves it starts working.

Any suggestions,
Gary

Leave a small pile of tribute to the Yard Gnomes and hope they take pitty on you ?

I have never heard of something like that to be honest.

Something I havent got with my keys is they set off the alarm when I use the key to unlock, but they start the car and disable the SCREEK r what ever it is.

Good luck,

-R

Gary,

Sorry to hear of your trouble, especially from a new car. I'm not familar with it, either. Maybe you can get the dealership to reprogram your keys. I often wonder if there is some type of interference coming from your vehicle itself or from something nearby. My main garage door remote interferes with my Sat. radio and who knows what all that wireless technology can do coming from our home computer networks. Seems to me that a good dealership should figure it out. Hopefully someone else will come along with an answer. Good luck.

I turned all the power off at the breakers to the house and still no luck in getting it to work. Just thought I would try that as I have a wireless network in the house and mucho electronics. Didn't take the batteries out of all the remotes though????

?????

Gary,

It's just odd that you can't get the keys to work when right near your car on the driveway. Does the same thing happen when you are next to it but in a location other than your driveway? Don't forget that many wireless signals are probably emitting from nearby homes if you are in a neighborhood. Taking batteries out and putting them back into laptops and cell phones help to reset them. Hey, it's worth a try.

Doesn’t happen anywhere other than my driveway. Any other place and it works fine, close, near far is all good, except when my car is in the driveway. The nearest house/apartment is approx 50’ away. Don’t know what kind of “emissions” they have.

Do you (or a neighbor) have a remote control receiver in your garage or one of those exterior garage door opener keypads? It just seems that there is some type of interference from something close to your car. Does the same behavior happen when you park your car in the garage?

My garage/shop is down the hill about 150'. The closest garage is across the street about 50 plus ft. Could be interference from any source in any of the neighbors across the street or in the apartments about 75' behind the house. I'll never find the source but can eliminate most of my house. As I said I haven't checked any of the remotes. None of my other vehicles have a problem or any guests or relatives cars.

Gary,

This situation certainly has me at a loss for direction. See if the dealership can reprogram the keys if the battery thing didn't work out.
