Question ipod video through nav

Has anyone here done an ipod video through nav yet? I have the part on order to modify my 6disc/nav/sat/ves head unit so it can play video through the nav screen and there is a (new?) ipod car cradle that will charge the battery and has an output. With that and the aux inputs on the VES I should be able to have dvd or ipod playing through the nav screen with audio, downside is you still have to choose the songs on the ipod. Does that sound right?

When you output to an external tv/monitor from your ipod video but only play music files does the song information go to the video? That would be slick if it does because then there would be song info on the front screen.

The audio place I'm working with has both parts ordered but its taking another 2 weeks.

Use a simple A/V cable (one video, L+R Audio) connected to your IPod Video and MAGIC! But you have to have the NAV Mod done-And you have to already tap the video out from the VES for this to work. All music videos, podcasts, and IPod shows play through my Nav unit. But the song info does not go to the video-just the standard OEM menu pops up.

Hi 333
We can mod the headunit for you, then you can tap the VES and plug your video ipod into the VES aux input. Feel free to call us at 718-763-7367

Thanks Sheepdog. Too bad it doesn't display the song info too.

do you have to have the head unit there? I will check but maybe it is your product that I am getting through the local place here. They are going to do the soldering.

Dom, I want to take a minute and thank you for the Awesome Job you did on my Nav unit and your customer service! I finished the Install yesterday and everything works perfectly! The picture is better than my VES in the back!

Is there any way to get the Ipod song info up on the Nav screen? Also, is there any way to control the Ipod with the stereo/steering wheel?
