BE CAREFUL GUYS!! - Fuse 18 as remote turn on - as per sticky

Guys,

I noticed that alot of you guys seemed to support using FUSE 18 in the fuse box to power up your amplifiers.

Using that fuse tap can be pretty dangerous as it looks as though the actual wire is therefore UNFUSED!!

What this means is that if you do happen to short the remote turn on wire, there is no protection on that wire, which could lead to some damage to your fuse box, or possible fire.

I went to a local auto parts store, and i purchased an ADD-A-CIRCUIT type, which is the same as a fuse TAP, however it is a DUAL fuse holder, one for the existing circuit and one for the new circuit.

I strongly recommend using this type of fuse tap. This is just my words of advice.

Heh... yet another benefit of the LC8 as it has automatic remote turn on when it senses a signal from your receiver. (it in turn tells your amps to turn on as well. )

Yeah i know. I was going with the LC8, but in desparation picked up the Peripheral SVEN4 LOC to try out. If it sounds like crap in my setup, then i am going to get the LC8.

Besides, I like the idea of being able to retain and use the factory amp for the rear and center speakers, and having the front components and subs powered with External Amp
