Will new In Dash DVD player work for me?

I am currently seriously looking into buying an Eclipse AVN7000 in dash dvd/nav system for my new ride. I heard from a shop that it should fit fine. My question is, will I still be able to use the controls on my steering wheel, and is the bypass for watching dvd's while driving something that is pretty common for this model player? Does anyone have any advice or tips for me? Thanks.
