Does no one worry about losing their cars?

I search here and find very little information on car alarms .... alot of BS about remote starting ... but nothing that would lead someone to believe that putting a car alarm in a 300 is important ...

So i ask ... is it not worth it? seems to me dropping $30k + for a car it would be more important then buying rims / tires ....

So are any of you running an alarm you would recommend? I could careless about remote start and a boatload more interested in security ...

Anyone have thoughts or suggestions for an actual alarm? I do not want to pay for any GPS alarm ... just want a good normal alarm for the car.

To Alarm or Not Alarm

I guess it depends on where you live. I live in upstate NY where I would be very surprised if someone actually stole my car. Don't get me wrong, I lock that baby every time I get out and my car is stored away in my locked garage every night. I don't really see a need for any additional alarm system.

same here. I live on an army base in Canada and the town out side the base only has maybe 6000 people in it. sometimes i even leave the keys in it with the engine running without a second thought. I wouldnt even consider dooing that in the city but I only go to the city maybe about 6 times a year so spending all the money on an alarm isnt worth it. I might consider an alarm if I knew it would drop my insurance but the insurance co, says the factory alarm is sufficent.

agreed

herb's right, the alarm is for your peace of mind only. A real thief will do whatever he wants.

Your only hope is a Lojack, but sometimes they even disable those!

lol, that's a great vid!!

i agree with the others.. alarms are only going to keep the honest man honest and give you peace of mind. LoJack is also a great option.

Since joyriding is out, its virtually impossible to hot wire one of these, so your left with pros, who need to use a flatbed or two truck, so dont bother. No alarm will stop a flatbed.
