Thumbs up Didn't get the Factory Uconnect and wish you had? Now it's easy!

The factory installed Uconnect is not the same as the Mopar aftermarket Uconnect. And it's not been easy to retrofit the factory one, unless you're lucky enough to have the wiring already in your 300 (Charger or Magnum).

So the only choice has been to build a harness to add this in, not an easy task.

Until now... JetPilot managed to get Metra to build a handful of harnesses, that just plug right in and allow you to add the factory Uconnect module, mirror and mirror harness and make Uconnect work with your OEM radio!

Add a trip to your local dealer and you can also have the steering wheel controls and EVIC functions working.

Have a look, it's taken something that's a pain to install and made it easy enough for anyone who can use a screwdriver.

Factory UConnect Harness Available NOW

I would love to add that, but the parts are costly.
Great job of making the wiring though.

Yeah it costs more for the factory version, but after having the Mopar one, selling it and putting in the factory one, I have no regrets...

Audio quality is better, you can control the audio level through the steering wheel, you get information on the EVIC and radio display, and on the Nav radio, you can look up places, get the phone number and dial it through the Uconnect.

Worth it for me, as I use the phone a lot in the car.

Uconnect

I just ordered my harness and sent an email to get pricing for the parts I need from my local dealer. If they aren't cooperative, what's the best price/vendor out there with the parts we need?

Anybody want to buy the dealer installed Uconnect? : )

I read the install post, I'm still a bit confused on how the harness from lxharness.com will integrate.

Basically it works like this. You change the mirror and it's harness. You use the custom Uconnect harness that JetPilot had built. One end plugs in to the Uconnect Hands Free module. Another end plugs in to the back of the radio and the factory harness that plugged in there, goes in to the custom harness. (This part is the same as how the Mopar aftermarket Uconnect attaches.)

Then the last part is inserting the contacts in to the connector in the A pillar that mates to the mirror harness.

I just got mine from JetPilot, today, so I'll be swapping out my built one, for this one and will take pictures. If I'm lucky, on Sunday.

Oh, where to buy the parts? Try supporting vendors on the forum. I've looked up the parts on www.makeitmopar.com and used those prices to ensure I'm getting a fair deal from my local dealer. Most dealers will charge you much more than someone competing on the web, but if you give them a chance to compete, they may meet the price.

Factory uconnect retrofit

Jaak, thank you!!!! This thing works like a champ!! I am sooooo happy. The dealer installed uconnect that they sold me for almost $600 installed SUCKED!!!

The install was not super difficult. I can't wait to have my dealer program the EVIC to have the caller ID on the dash !

Does anybody know how to get the manual for this version? I already paired it and am using it, but want to know if I'm missing any cool features.

I just installed the factory uconnect yesterday with thanks to Jaak and harness from jetpilot. I agree the factory version is much better than the dealer add-on I had in my other 300.

Congratulations on getting this add on figured out and built. There always seems to be a post asking about how to get the factory set up…..now there is an answer. Well done! UConnect is a real nice feature to have on your ride especially if it’s like the factory setup.
