U connect issues

I have an 08 wrangler unlimited with the add on uconnect in the mygig unit. My motorola v3m cell phone will not work with it. I took it to the cell dealer and their other units (not motorola) work just fine. I was told by sprint to upgrade the software wich I did with both Sprint and Mototola and still nothing. I must mention that before the updates the phone would pair just fine but it was not recongnized by the mygig as there was no phone icon or bar signal on the screen. Now since the last updates the phone will not even pair. Any help???? I just got the phone a month before the vehicle and can't afford another contract extension for a new phone. THis is very frustrating.

I'm not familiar with the MyGig/UConnect combination, but have you tried resettng UConnect?

For those of us with the REC system, to reset UConnect you press the phone button and the one to the right of it for several seconds. I know MyGig has the phone button in the unit, but I have no idea where the other one is. I guess when I get my Jeep I'll know...haha.

You can also try calling the UConnect Customer Support number at - 1-877-855-8400.

Here's the complete instructions for UConnect - UConnect Hands Free Communications- Complete Instructions.

Which version of software do you have on the MyGIG radio? The latest is v9.561, with another small revision due this month.

Interesting that the Motorola does not work. I had a Motorola Razor which worked perfect with my MyGIG radio. I recently bought a new LG VX-8350 which was on Chrysler's "approved" list and while I could get both MyGIG and the phone to confirm successful Pairing, I could not get any audio when the phone switched over to UConnect.

I contacted LG who told me it wasn't their problem, contacted Verizon who also passed the buck, and gave up trying to get an answer from Chrysler. I then took the phone back and traded it for a brand new one of the same model, but same problem. So, next day went and got a refund on the phone and bought a new Motorola W385, figuring I had no problems with other Motorola phones and UConnect. The phone Paired right up and works perfectly.

How old exactly is your phone? You *might* be able to trade it for a workable model depending on where you bought it from and which customer service rep you get at your service provider. Push hard if you have to, tell them that your phone is simply not compatible with the hands-free system in your vehicle and for safety reasons you need one that is. If you don't get anywhere, ask to speak to a supervisor. The higher $$ your phone bills have been in the past the more pull you will have.

Uconnect issues with motorola razr v3m

This is what I have received from the manufacturer of the Mygig radio.

Hi Timm
You are correct, the MyGIG does not currently work with the Motorola RAZR v3m. We are working on a software release that will support this but it is not yet ready to release. We will release in December. Be patient. The Bluetooth standard is sometimes violated by the cell phones and in this case Motorola sends the same ID for all RAZR even though the interface is slightly different. The phone was released after the model Year release. We just fixed the iPhone and now the RAZR is very close.

Write me back about Dec. 7

Steve

Steve, does that mean you're the go to guy for MyGig? I'm hoping that's what I'm reading in your post, so stick around eh. I may have a million questions when I get my Jeep!!!...haha.

EDIT: Damn, haha!!! I just reread your post and see that's what they said to you...haha. Stick around anyway!!!

Bernie

I also have the exact same problem (mygig and razr). With all the posts everywhere indicating how well the Razr works with uconnect, I was confused.

I guess I'll hang on to this phone and wait for the update.

I was getting a 24K checkup at a local OC dealer and he indicated that a factory kit/dealer installation B-Tooth is expected prior to the California law lockdown. I have been holding off having a 3rd party hack into a new wiring loom and break everything that works fine now. Has anyone else heard this is coming from DC?
