The Sirius Radio Thread was deleted? Damn.

I needed to read about painting the sirius antenna. I did my Sirius install this past weekand and found that the antenna does not get a decent signal through my rear window tint. I'm going to have my paintshop paint on the roof I guess....

No issues with paint?

Thanks for the thread. Good topic. I just picked up my 300C this weekend. It's a company car with a two year lease. I only opted for two options, the sunroof and adj. pedals, no sirius radio. Since this is a lease, I do not want to hard wirre the OEM sirius. I was thinking about getting the Delphi or one of the other retail systems that I can have installed and then unistalled when my lease is up. I can then reinstall in the new car. However, I do not know a whole lot about them. How do they install? How do they work? I read something about FM modulation. What is it? Does this affect the sound quality? Any web sites that can help?

In short, I am looking for a retail sirius system that will work and mount the best in my 300C. Thanks for any assistance.

KC, I have now the Xact sirius radio. It looks like a palm pilot. It is wired with a fm transmitter. They put the wiring behind the chrome nav plate. It works very good, you have to put your radio on 88.1 or some other frequency to make it work. There is static and outages at times, but overall it is very good. And it can be used as a walkman with added accesories.

Thanks Kg.

How do you have it mounted inside your car? Is it a docking station? Where did you put the antennae? How does it mount? If you had it installed, how much? I think I saw these at Best Buy. Is that where you got yours? If possible, can you post a picture of the unit mounted in your car? Re you tired of me asking questions? Oops, that was another one. I know I am asking a lot of questions and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone w/ Aftermarket Sirius/XM Hardware in 300?

Has anyone installed a non OEM (Chrysler) satelite radio in their 300? I would like to know the specifics of your installation. For example:

What Brand/Model radio?
Did you have it installed or installed yourself?
Where did you mount the radio inside the car?
-Top of dash, floor mounted, front of dash, etc.
Where did you mount the antennae?
How does the system work?
-FM Modulation, direct wire?
How does the system perform? Any drawbacks?

I think this information could be valuable for many forum members. Thanks for any comments.

Nope, please read my post near the top of this thread. It's too difficult to remove the antenna, so it was painted in place with very careful masking. Looks and works great.

OK KC one at a time: I have it installed in my car on a docking station on the dash board of the passenger seat with double sided tape. The antennae is located right above the rear window, black antenna. Yes, it was from Best Buy and installed. I think the installation was $50. I don't have the time to post pics I am also returning it in a couple of days as I ordered the Chrysler sirius system. It is a good system though.

I am actually installing the OEM Sirius kit from chrysler. I have everything installed but the antenna. I dropped the antenna off at the body shop today to have it painted. He said he will gladly drill the holes for me and colormatch the antenna for $80.

All I have to do is yank the C Pillar and pull the headliner down a bit while I tighten the sucker down and route the wiring down the Pillar. I'll post pix when I'm done.

Sirrius w/o NAV - pics?

Just looking to see if anyone with Sirrius but without the Nav unit can post some pics of how the setup looks. Looking to get the 300c with only sirrius and maybe protection II. Thanks.
