4 Hours Labor?!

I have a feeling I'm about to get screwed. My local 5 star Chrysler dealer just told me that my iPod installation will take him 4 HOURS on wednesday.

They've already shown that they are extremely lazy in their service. I can't say that they have shown a lack of integrity (yet), but today was an awful experience with them. I was scheduled to get my iPod kit installed today. After waiting for nearly two hours, they come in and tell me that my "back ordered" nav unit showed up today. They installed that, but the iPod "guy" is buried and won't be able to do the install. No good explanation for why I was scheduled for an install, but magically got bumped. So at least one good, albeit unexpected, repair happened, right?!

Nope... the new (refurb) navigation unit is giving me the same disc error on the nav dvd. On top of that, they scratched the silver bezel around my center stack, and left the ash tray/heated seat button section halfway popped out. I told the service manager that I usually expect for my car to come out of service in better shape than when it rolled in.

They are going to replace the bezel on Wednesday, along with the 4 freaking hour iPod install. I'm thinking I'm just going to take the part and either do it myself or take it to the 5 star Dodge dealer on the other side of town who happens to have a much better reputation.

Now that I've vented, am I right in thinking 4 hours is ridiculous?

Go back and ask to speak to the General Mananger of the dealership not the Service manager and complain HUGE to him. I mean HUGE! If that doesnt give you satisfaction then get on the phone to the corprate office and complain to them.... Dont let them get away with this, you need to complain to the right people! the reason that all these F'd up dealerships are getting away with this kind of crappy a$$ work is noone is complaining to the right people.

No excuse for that poor service.. They should be kissing your A$$ for giving them your business! Use the more reputable dealer in the future.
