How the hell do you access the dash speakers

without tearing the dash apart?

Easiest way is to take a credit card corner and pop it in the gap . Pry out the mesh cover and it should pop right out if you work it around . Mastercard....don't leave home without it ....LOL..

Is that safe though?
I ask because you could easily wipe out your credit card.
The speaker has a magnet and if you get the credit card
too close to the magnet wouldn't it wipe out the credit card.

I'd find something else to pry up the edge.

Thanks for the information as well as how to access
the speakers, I was wondering myself.

Just use an old cc or one of those sample cc you get in the mail daily. Grill tabs are in the 1:30 , 4:30 , 7:30 , 10:30 o'clock positions. Just slide the cc in at the 12, 3, 6, or 9 o'clock position and it pops right out

Personally, I used a "pry tool" to access mine.

I just had mine out yesterday. I used a Snap On ice pick tool. It has a 90 degree angle on it and worked perfect. They came right out and the speakers were actually pretty nice for stockers.

Listen, you don't know how lucky you are that you have to worry about HOW to take the speaker grilles off the dashboard speakers!

My passenger side dash speaker grille pops out by itself if I leave the car parked in the sun for an hour or two!

I have tried removing it and pushing it back with great force around the edges but it still just keeps coming out every now and then.

Not bad for a car that is 2 months old and has 1 000km on the clock and has never stood in the sun for any extended period of time!

On second thought - maybe it is the type of music that I listen to i.e. Nightwish, Evanescence, Lordi (you get the picture).

Actually - I just had a thought - if you want to remove ALL the dash speaker grilles simultaneously without using any kind of tool whatsoever just go out and buy any Nightwish album ('End Of An Era' works well) or Evanescence 'The Open Door'. Turn up the volume and base and the job is done!

(Hope you don't mind me kidding around but this speaker grille thing really amuses me in my car. It's alive)!

Regards,

Dale.
