It has begun

Well, almost all of the stereo components showed up today. Still waiting on a few other pieces to get here. Mainly the fiberglass materials and the fatmat. We are gonna start mocking up the enclosure this weekend or next week. The air suspension upgrade is gonna here next week as well, so we can get that all put in and then finish up the install. I will try to post pictures as progress moves on.

Here's a few pics of the cars current condition and the stereo stuff to go in.

Update

Just figured I would give everyone an update on the car's progress. Things have been pretty busy at the shop so haven't had a whole lot of time to get things done.

As it sits, I have almost all the FatMat installed. Still gotta do the trunk area but wanted to wait till I figure out how everything will lay out back there. I am gonna wait on the doors right now since they are sealed up pretty good from the factory. Plus they come off easy enough that I can always do them later if I am not happy with it.

The box is built and ready to start laying out the rings and then glassing. I have the front tweeter adapters, door midbass adapters, and rear speaker adapters done. I just painted them today so didn't take any pics of those yet.

So besides the box, all we have left is the amp rack and kick panel pods to build. Then we gotta figure out the trunk configuration and build mounts and covers for that stuff. Then of course all the wiring. I'm waiting on the high output alternator to get here, then I can get my batteries ordered and start fabbing up a second alternator bracket.

Here are some pics I took today.

How do I post the actual pics instead of the links on VBB? I have my pictures on photobucket but not sure how to post them.

Thanks

Great info. Thank you for your help. Some of the other forums I go to do not use the img format to post pics.

Giving it a shot.

Thanks Again

This is what we got done today. Had to play around quite a bit with ring placement, but we finally got it to where we liked it. The adapters for the 8" midbass's for the doors were installed today. We are gonna start glassing the box and then I get to start installing the ride height sensors for the bags. Once I get them mocked up and done, we will get all the wiring ran for everything at one time.

Still need to Fatmat the trunk, but wanted to wait till the all the box test fitting was done.

Thanks guys. Still a long road ahead of us. Got so much going on right now. Tons of stuff that we are trying to fit in the trunk and still make it look like a clean install. I have been trying to post pics as we get further along. Not really a step by step but a progress update as we get it.

Now that the box shell is coming along, we can start the glassing. While that is out of the trunk and getting done, I can install the Fatmat in the trunk and figure out the layout for the rest of the stuff. We are pretty sure on amp location and placement, so just need to start an amp rack. Then I gotta figure out where to mount my 2 tanks, 6 compressors, rear valves, and 2 or 3 batteries. Thats not counting all the misc stuff like cooling fans, water separators, air line placement, plexi, leds, etc.

Unfortunately, everything was pretty much being held up waiting to see how the box was gonna come out. I have a ton of steps left to go, but its a long process. I can't do step 3 till step 2 is done and I can't do step 2 till step 1 is done, so on and so forth. haha.

I am hoping to have this done by the time all the snow melts for good. Its been really warm here lately and most of the snow is quickly fading away. So that means I gotta get crackin to meet my goals. LOL.
