VES Region-Hack??

Hi,

Has anyone ever tried to enter some hidden menus to unlock the ves dvd system?
it`s locked to region 1, but should easily be set to 0 or another region, pressing a sertain code on the remote.

Any help is welcome!

Julian

What do you mean "unlock"? This sounds interesting. I haven't heard of regions either. What's that about?

Problem is we're using a ram-megacab in europe :-) we'll be burning our ass off! Haha :-)
Most dvd players ( most electronics with a display ) have hidden menu's, i'm sure there is a way to access the features of this unit, problem is how.
The ves player itsself doesn't show any information of the manufacturer :-S

Hammer?

Julian..if you can find the VES maker/model number I'm sure there is a hack for it...I've used hacks for my home dvd players to allow me to play dvds from different regions

I contacted Mitsubishi-Electric, who manufactures the VES System for daimlerchrysler.

The region is hardware-locked, even if they would change the region, the unit is only capable of playing NTSC, not PAL, as used in europe.

They adviced me to order a completely new unit, build for europe.

Damnit, who wants to buy a VES from canada!?!?

AAARGHH I'M GONNA BURN SOME RUBBER NOW
