Replacing stock CD player.

So i have picked out a lovely touch screen unit from kenwood. Only issue i am having that stopped me from swapping out my deck in the first place is those damn black tabs on either side. So i was wondering if i could get the bezel from a 300 with a nav unit to replace it? Also Would their be any retro fitting needed?

you'll need a kit like this:

99-6510 Dodge Durango, Magnum 05-06/Chrysler 300 05-06, Aspen 07/Jeep Grand Cherokee 05-06, Commander 06; Quick release, snap-in, ISO mount with trim ring, recessed DIN opening, instruction manual, all necessary hardware;

the bottom tray is removable to allow a double din radio to fit in the Nav Bezel...

If they can do good fabrication work, use the factory with out nav bezel. Have them dremel the bezel on top and bottom to fit, then fill and paint the side holes to match
this way you dont have the black border from the install kit around your nav

I did this exact mod Saturday, you'll need the kit pictured above, a nav bezel and either buy the factory radio brace that fits the nav radio or trim the facory one, which is what I did. Its pretty straight forward, pull everything apart and swap the ac controls etc. from the old bezel to the new one, you'll notice when you pull the factory radio out, that there is a white brace in the back that supports the rear of the radio, it has two humps molded into it, cut them off, the only other thing that might throw you off is that because you're going to the nav bezel, you need to mount the new cd player in the second set of holes rather than the ones the factory radio was screwed into because, it needs to be mounted a little lower for the new bezel. My install kit also had some alignment pins on it that I had to trim off because they would not fit in the new mounting location, yours may not have this problem.

Plus installation and all that... - $1200 Total

OR! this Seriously all in one! VALORMULTIMEDIA.COM under navigation its the NVG-670WT

So i figured either way... its gonna cost me around 1200... might as well get a better screen than the factory, and have better audio signal... not to mention 101 more options on this unit.. you guys need to check out the options this thing has... oh man... the ONLY this the factory nav would have over this.... would be well ok 2 things... steering wheel controls (which still might be possible) and 6 disc in dash... but this thing has an sd slot... so... ya.

BUt as i was saying... I didnt wanna do the aftermarket thing, cuz I didnt want to remold my nav bezel.... and if i got the cd player bezel... i didnt want the dumb oval tabs on each side.... but the nav kit like u have there works!!!! i thinik ima get this!
