Question Anyone attempted larger dash speakers?

Just curious if anyone has. We are thinking of putting in dash speakers for front staging but 3.5's are too small. We are thinking of 5.25's but aren't sure what's under there?

That part of the dash is about 4mm thick of foam and rubber, you could easily cut and use an aftermarket grill. Perhaps recess the baffle a bit so the aftermarket grill sits flush and then have it color matched to the dash?

PixelPusher had a set of DLS 3 Ways installed and had his 3" mids installed in the dash and the tweeker on the a pillar. 6.5"s in the doors. Even the guy who installed it was impressed with the setup

Perhaps go with a set of 3 way focal utopias? mmmmm utopia..

We are putting a set of MB Quart QSD216's in the front doors. A set of QSD216's in the custom-made kicks. A set of QSD213's in rear doors. A set of QSD216's in trunk display.
So, we were thinking of a set of QSD213's in dash.
