Anyone Looking to buy new Pioneer Head Unit - Beware (for now)

I just wanted to let you guys know that the new 2007 models for Pionner Mobile Video Head units, have SERIOUS technology to prevent you from watching video while on the move... Its not just your normal E-brake ground fix like most other Screens available on the market. THe pioneer has internal Gyros and other technology to keep the screen from playing mobile video. THis is so that there can never be a lawsuit against pioneer for an accident caused by there unit.

The Avic Z1 which is last years model, had the same problem, but they eventually came out with a hack for it. Although now they have been working on the new Z2 for about 2 months now, with no serious improvement on a hack. The old hack on the Z1 no longer works on the new Z2. Some people are getting it to play video, but after a certain amount of miles, the head unit almost "re-checks" itself and gives you an error message, that your parking brake is incorrectly wired up. This thing is SMART. This doesnt go for the D-line of units... that a lot of you are thinking about getting the new D3 unit, which is around $995. THey have found a reasonable hack for this unit, and it can be reversed for warranty work. But as of right now the Z2 is a B!&*#!

Although I have no reason to believe that they will be unable to hack it... Im sure they will. Just know that the hack they will make for it, will DEFINITELY void your pioneer warranty, and the way the hacks are being done, there is no way to hide it from pioneer. So this is a major drawback, Im sure they will have a fix for this sometime soon, Ive been keeping my eye on the pioneer forums waiting for them to come up with a definite solution. But there is still the voided warranty situation. Just wanted to let you guys have a heads up.
