Can I put a NAV system in my Touring ???

I was considering putting either the factory 6 disc changer or the factory Nav system in my Touring. Anyone know if either of these will replace the stock 1 disc changer without any mods needed ? I was concerned about the speaker set up. The stock system uses 4 speakers and I believe both the 6 disc and Nav systems use 6 speakers.

Any feedback is appreciated.

yes, it is plug and play

regardless of the speaker option, the wiring is the same from the head unit out on all 3 units.

for the nav you need the Bezel, GPS antenna and the Nav unit.

remove your single disc player, and the mounting frame, plug the nav unit in, put the GPS antenna behind your dash cluster (there is a place for it there already) route the antenna wire to the unit and you're done.

easy peasy, takes about 20 minutes.

i just today put a 6 disc in dash mp3 player in my 300 touring. the vehicle came from the factory with a single disc, but i upgraded. the one i got was actually out of a jeep grand cherokee. someone was upgrading to nav, so i got the "used" (brand new car, hadn't even left the dealership yet) mp3 unit for a grand total of 75$.

it just plugged right in. no big deal at all. basically take a credit card, putty knife, scraper, whatever, and pop off the bezel around the stereo. unclip the traction control wire bundle, the clock wire bundle, and the 3 wire bundles for the AC unit, then get that bezel out of the way. use your average philips head screwdriver to undo the 4 screws holding the factory head unit in place. there's 1 wire bundle to unclip, along with the antenna, which just pulls straight out.

literally, it took me longer to find the screwdriver than it did to do the job.

since the 6 disc/mp3 is the same size as the single CD unit, you don't need a new bezel. the 6disc is pimp too because instead of just saying 101.1, it says 101.1 and scrolls some other text, like the station's name, call letters, and the name of the song currently being played. most radio stations now have this technology. it also has a digital clock built in. i don't know if that's because the particular stereo i got is for a grand cherokee or what, but its nice to have a digital clock. way easier for me to read, far less thinking.
