I hate my Nav Unit.

truly I do, I hate this thing with a passion....

My Camry unit is so easy to work with, so easy to modify... it's touch screen, yeah it only is a 4 changer CD player, not a 6 but 4 mp3 discs is plenty.

it has an Ipod and an aux port build in.

it has a 7 inch wide screen and took me all of 15 minutes to add the Nav 2 go unit to it.

oh yeah and it's made by JBL

Stupid DCX, Stupid Alpine.

I am so damn frustrated with it I am about to throw it off a bridge.

can't get my ribbon cable to work... I finally get the video picture and now the Nav/radio screen and the CD player are dead.

Last time it was Nav/radio work fine and the video picture was blurry and had a white line streaking up it.

take the ribbon off and everything is working, or so I thought.. This morning my CD changer died, I can't eject the discs and it keeps playing the same song over and over and over and over and over, and turning it off doesn't help.

I hate my nav unit.

I hope the song isn't "My Sharona"!

I feel your pain, Mr. I. I don't have those issues, but the unit sucks. If I had to do it all over again, I would have taken the money DCX charges for the NAV and bought a better aftermarket one. Sh!t, my wife's unit in her T&C is better!

Another reason I've held off on this mod...

Maybe it wasn't your ribbon to begin with and is a defective unit that just happened to crap out on you at this precise time.

oh you aren't aware, I am working on a ribbon cable that makes the Nav 2 Go mod plug and play.....instead of hard wiring to the PCB board...

I've dumped a grip of cash into R&D (guess where the $$ comes from )and 6 months later I have this

I'm just frustrated that's all.

and I am building a carputer, this project (nav cable) is not for me but for the 100s of members across the LX community that want nav2go but don't want to hardwire it...
It's for you guys not for me, personally an nice AM transistor radio is fine for me (NOT!)
