aftermarket sat radio antenna location?

just wondering where you guys are mounting your antennas for satelite radio or GPS. there is no brake light to go through to mount it on the roof. are people just mounting it to the trunk lid??

Well the factory antenna goes right behind the radio in the dash.
I mean I dont know if your antenna will work if not exposed to the sky like the stock ones.
Give it a try, just squeeze it between the 2 vents.

This is what I did with mine. The new XM antenas are pretty small. The wire is easier to run up here.

so you just stabbed it through the windshield glue?? i was wondering if i could do this in the rear. without worrying about leaking. would look alot cleaner from the rear.

im assuming you are talking about some sort of sattelite radio option right from chrysler??

im going be doing an aftermarket sirius install when i install my in dash dvd. so the antenna has to be in clear view of the sky.

Get a sigma antenna and mount the sucker under your windshield or back window so you don't have a black dog turd on your roof.

i've got my XM antenna inside the vehicle. its on the far corner of the dash on the passenger side, where the windshield, dash, and pillar all come together. i ran the cable between the pillar trim and dash pad, then underneath where the passenger's feet go, and over to my XM unit. perfect reception and i'm not advertising to anyone that i've got upgraded stereo stuff in my vehicle.

im not sure how you guys are getting reception with your antenna inside the car?? especially with the poor reception of XM. when i was using XM, i couldnt even drive dowtown close to any tall buildings. or i would lose signal. sirius has cleared up that problem now. good reception everywhere. but i still had to mount the antenna on the roof.

i havent heard of a sigma antenna. is it supposed to get better reception than a regular sattelite antenna??

doesnt seem like anyone here has really got any experience with this yet on the 300's. ill probably just mount it to the front part of the trunk lid. ill post some pics for everyone if i ever get some days off to get this done.
