No Sound /Audio After Installing after market stereo

I have a factory Boston Premium Stereo system with a factory amp. I installed a Kenwood DDX7019 using Crutchfield CHTO-01 adapter to keep the factory amp. The issue is the sound does not come on at all but I can see video on the screen. The only way I can get sound is when the car is running I plug the factory stereo to the car harness without turning it off, and then I disconnect the car harness from the factory stereo and reconnect the car harness to the Crutchfield adapter harness. As soon as I turn off the power to the car the sound goes away. If anybody has run into this problem or has any suggestions could you please let me know. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

I am not familiar with the harness that Crutchfield harness, but it sounds like you do not have a remote turn on lead signal coming from the new head unit. Whether it is not hooked up or the Crutchfield harness does not have provisions for it could both cause what you are describing.

i agree with Blowndakrt... i had the same issue when i installed my aftermarket in my rsx type-s. it had a factory amp but the remote wire wasn't labled anything close so i didn't know where to connect my remote to the harness... i called crutchfield and they were very informative had me up and running in a matter of seconds... they know their ****. they will ask for your order number, then pull up your info and what they have on your car, have you up and going in no time... give their tech team a call...
