My opinion about the REC unit

I just had to get this off my chest. We left 2,5 weeks ago for a salestrip through france portugal and spain. Visiting about 6-8 clients a day. I was really hoping the navigation would lead us the right way and it actually was the fist time Iwas depending on the system.

Well...I was REALLLYYY disappointed about the system. Some of the things that really went wrong were like

-Slow calculation of the route
-Finding the right spot for the nav to start your route (please drive to the following destination to start your route) Like where the hell do you want me to drive too in order for the nav to kick in.
-Very low map detailing
-Many turns where you can't go because off one way lanes.
-Making the right turn and then say your off route and taking ages to recalculate (right i cant just stop on the highway to wait)
-Old maps (eventhough 2006 dvd) in cities that are there for like ages already.
-Very little points of interest (mainly hotels) and we were staying in the bigger hotels.
-Not taking the shortest ways and taking you all around town when you could have taking earlier exits and save like 6 miles.

Well there is more but i wont bother you with more. I had a volvo V70 before and that oem system was a LOT better.

Conclusion i'm selling the system it might work for others but it ain't for me. I'm really curious how the new system is working with the touchscreen (cant remember what is is called but several topics have passed about it. It was still in testing fase if it would work in our cars. Will it be the same or will the software be updated and faster in working the nav system.

Well thats it for now...Oh yeah the car itself was great. I felt like the fast and the furious with my chipped CRD. I even got pulled over by the french police going about 48km/h too fast. They were using laser on the highway and a cop on motor came after me. But i wasnt the only one lol. Damm i love the car though....
