So I changed to Infinity Kappas...

That's it. I dismounted the rear shelf and as I was in it I changed the rears to Infinity Kappa 6x9. I shouldn't have touched it cause now it sounds so much better making me want to change front speakers too

I saw some of you changed the dash 3.5" to 4" having to cut a little, now I wonder if I just changed them to the JBL 3.5" 2 way speakers if the improvement would be nice or if I just go ahead and find the 4" Kappas.

Another question is, what about the speaker in the middle, what it does, is it worth changing it too?

The door speakers, any advantage replacing them to Infinity Kappas too? I mean, having tweeters near our feet is it good?

Last question, the rear shelf 8" sub, is it worth touching it if no changes are to be done on the amplification system? If so what are the options, I don't want to put any cases on the trunk, just improve what's already there...

Thanks

I changed to the 4s... Check my THREADs...

IT was a pain, but way worth it. Dont waste your time with new 3.5" I tried that before, and barely noticed a difference. As far as the center, I removed mine, and most people here did the same. It actually sounds worse with it...

Doors are just for midbass I think. Mine in the KICKER system do not even have a tweeter. I dont think you will get sound from the tweeter on a high end kappa because as far as I know those are crossed over, and wont play.

If you are not changing the amp please dont touch the sub... its a TERRIBLE idea, and you will not find a sub that plays with the small amount of power that you have for it.

I have tons of Audio threads. I used to own a C and changed everything...

I've read almost all your threads about audio

Thanks for clarifying about the door and central speakers

About the dash speakers, what do you think of the Infinity Kappa 32.7CF 3-1/2" 2-Way Loudspeaker? Being Kappas I think they might be worth...

That is the same one I got, but in the 3.5

Thing is, doesnt sound like much but the 4" looks WAYYYYY better, and meatiers and will produce lower sound due to bigger woofer.

If it were me? I would do the 4" every time... If you want plug and play and you dont want to do the work, then you can SETTLE for the 3.5. But that is what you will be doing, is settling.

Sorry, prolly not the answer you wanted...

Wouldn't you happen to know what's the crossover frequency between the door speakers and the dash ones? Cause another option would be installing a 2 way separated system, a 6" woofer on the door and a tweeter on the dash...

You could not do that, because the dash plays too low.

And there isnt enought power, and you would have to still cross them over. If you are going to do that, then you will need to do a new amp with enough power to run them.

The doors dont play loud enough anyway.

If you're going to upgrade your front speakers the best choice is to use Components. They'll sound alot better. The only concern is you're going to need an Amp to provide enough power to the new speakers to get the sound you want. HEMI4ME is right, you're not going to find an aftermarket Subwoofer that will work with the amount of power provided by the factory Amp.

Hmmm guess I'll live it as it is, IMHO the car has already a great OEM sound, it came with BA7 + sub. Or maybe I'll just change the dash ones as HEMI4ME did

Change the dash ones... You will not be dissatisfied at all! Plus if you add a amp and sub to the rear later, you will have a nice sounding front stage to match it!

But is there an option to do that without changing the trunk's size/configuration? My 300C is a family car, I can't put sub cases or amps occupying space. BTW, isn't the OEM 368W amp enough??
