I have downloaded two different music sharing sites, Limewire and Gnutella, and I did this so that I could have a library to download all my CD's then burn them onto MP3 discs.

I talked to a fellow last night and he tells me that I can't do this because of incripted codes in CD's. I seem to recall that others have done this. I have about 200 discs in my trunk and sure would like to condense them onto MP3.

I have the latest Nero burner on my system and two disc players (?) on my computer.

Can someone please tell me if I can do what I want and if so what is the easiest way to do it? Thx. Mike.

I was able to rip about 5 of my discs onto windows media and then was able to put them into a place where they could be burned but there was no area where it could be converted to MP3. It would only burn about 1 and a half dics. There must be a remedy to this. Any ideas? Sorry for being such a pain.

Mikey, below is my post from another thread... there are other suggestions in that thread as well at http://www.300cforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5973&highlight=easy+extractor, but this is a great program that pretty much does it all... Good Luck!
-------------------------------------------------------------

I've found Easy CD-DA Extractor to be, as they say, easy... and very versatile all the way around. You can download a 30-day free trial version here. It's stripped of a few features and is not full speed, but if you like it, it's only $25 to buy the faster full-featured version.

Features:

  • High performance CD-ripping
  • Copies "Copy-Protected" CD's
  • Reads badly scratched CD's

  • Creates Cue Sheets (.cue)
  • Creates Playlists (.m3u)
  • Supports CD-Text
  • Supports ID3, ID3V2, and other format specific metadata
Converts audio files from one format to another
  • Convert audio files from a format to another

Creates Audio CD's
  • Writes Audio CD's that are compatible with all CD-players

I finally got this thing figured out and have converted all my CD's to about 6 discs. The problem I was having is that they had to be burned as a data disc not an MP3 disc. I now use music match (paid version) to store my songs and then Nero6 to burn. I find the sound quality to be excellent but then I have damaged hearing from my military and police career.
