300 base factory stereo question

i have a 2007 300 base... i had a question regarding the audio on this car...

first of all, the window sticker on the car, and chrysler's website, says it has 4 speakers... yet, when i count, there are 3 on the top of the dash, 2 on the front doors (1 per side), and 2 on the rear deck. this is a total of 7 speakers.. what's up with that?

second.. what is the best config on the bass/treble/mids on the factory stereo? the bass is really muddy and is not clear.

currently, this is what i have done:

bass: -4
mids: -8
treble: +8
balance: -|-
fade: R +2 | F -2

this seems to be OK so far, but I am having a really hard time finding the best/appropriate settings. I listen to mostly rap/pop and what not

any insight would be greatly appreciated thanks!

The three in the dash are not in there. Only covers. Pop it open and see it for yourself.

Not 100% sure, but there are no wires there unless you have an amp. The amp is only there with the BA6 or BA8 option. It's easy to check. You can pull the covers using a credit card. Just pry up one side and pull. The dash holes fit a 3.5 speaker.

i keep my stereo similarly tuned, but i usually set it with a little more power going to the rear.

you can check and see if its got an amplifier. its located basically under the steering column. you know that part that your knees hit if you get in an accident? if your vehicle has one, its behind there.
