Do I Have An Alarm?

the other day my buddie was looking at my car and the thing is.... i locked my car and the windows were down and when he unlocked it maually.... the siren did not go off. my question is... isnt my 300 suppose to have the factory alarm or is it just keyless entry. i just figured that the alarm will go off if someone opened the door when i locked the car with my remote? is there something wrong with my car? did they forget to put in the door sensor at the factory?

Oh, it´s not that simple. You set the alarm by pressing "close" on the remote control BEFORE you close the last door. Otherwise it won´t work.

Try this: sit in your car with the key in your hands, open the door, press "close" on the remote, then close the door and wait approx. 1 minute. If you now open the door manually from inside, alarm will ring!!

Do not open the door too soon, it may take longer than 1 minute, but the alarm will set! And be sure to hold the key in your hands and not to put it in the ignition key hole (< hope, you know what i mean) ;-)

Good Luck!!

Unfortunately, you´ll have to do this every single time you leave the car... For me, it makes no sense leaving the car without setting the alarm. Who knew what chrysler rode to build it that way...

Wait a minute...

I don't think that the Tourings come with an alarm, only the C's and up. Can someone verify. I don't think my '06 Touring Signature Series has an alarm, only the keyless entry.

2007 300c mine works the same as UK Chrysler's. to tell if it is armed there is a red light on the dash. when you lock the door it blinks fast. the alarm is not set yet. after a few seconds the blinking slows the alarm is armed. any movement inside the car or opening the doors or even opening the trunk. (left the window open and pushed the trunk release) sets the alarm off. what it seems is anything the causes a change in the circuits set the alarm off. would be interesting to know if it would go off if someone tows the car.

correct me if i am wrong, but if the alarm is activated, does the trunk release not work, so by pressing the button (say if the windows were left open or broken) would not open the trunk
