Avic-z1

I gott a great deal on an AVIC-Z! that should be here next week. Few questions?

First regarding the bezel. Is it better to just replace my non-nav bezel with the nav unit or trim out the non-nav bezel to fit? Anyone have any prefs and why?

Second, what do I need to retain steering whell controls? I seem to read conflicting advice when I search. Some say that you cant replace, some use the adapter which basically turns the steering wheel controls into a remote, still others seem to have an adapter that interfaces correctly. Advice?

Any other comments are welcome.

Oh yeah, I have the base headunit. I have already replaced all speakers powered by JBL amps and a single 10" sub.

You can check out Ebay. There is a PAC steering wheel adapter for our cars on there for about $50. I have an AVIC-Z1 I am installing too. This part on Ebay helps out. You should get the stock nev trime, too with an adapter plate bacause the non-nav trim will have the two half moon holes next to the HU which will look kinda cheap. Please let me know if you need anything else. I had this same deck in a Magnum too and loved it! I am, however having trouble with my SRT because of all my options. Dodgeboy gave me some good advice if you look through the audio section and find the thread. The only thinkg I wonder now is abbout my stock antenna hook up...

Wink nav bezel

go with the nav bezel, because if you trim the orginal you will be stuck with the mickey mouse ears on the sides. i had the avic d3 installed with nav bezel and the made a fabric to match my interior to go around the unit.
