Question problems with JL sub installation

well i recently bought a JL 12 inch W7 sub with a JL 500/1 amp and got all the stuff installed by the local store. When they hooked the remote wire up apparently there were surges of power goin back into the fuse box where they hooked it too. The surges blew some fuse in there that the dealer said had some information on and that they wouldnt replace it if this happened again. So i went back and they turned the signal sensing switch on the amp on and took the remote wire out and now everything works fine, but i have the feelin that i am losing alot of power because of what happened. I was wondering if any of u guys could give me some advice on what to do and how your installation went?

re:

What exactly did they hook the remote wire up to?

Are you using the stock headunit or an aftermarket headunit?

If stock... use Accessory or Ignition (fused) for the remote turn on

If aftermarket... use remote amp turn on wire (blue/white)

Hope this helps

Losing alot of power to the subs? No, the remote wire just tells the amp when the car is on, using the signal sense method just tells the amp to look for a signal over the RCAs and turn on when it gets one.
