Question for the "bass heads"

I am in the process of starting to do my system in my 300 and have 2 plans. I'd like to get opinions from you guys/girls first tho. I am wanting HARD hitting bass. The higher the SPL, the better.

option 1: I was going to put 4 alpine type R's in a custom fiberglassed box in the trunk (unsure of the amp)

option 2: 1 JL audio 12w7 with the JL 1000 watt mono amp(unsure of the model).

Im up to other opinions as well but ive never heard the W7 so i have no clue how loud it actually is. Ive only had the type r's and they hit pretty damn well.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

or even better yet, maybe 2 12w7's?

Im sure for that i'll need a 2nd battery and a 15 farad cap. I wonder how much better 2 will sound than 1....

There are alot of good subs to choose from. By hard-hitting I think you mean really low, then look at 2 15's.
We put 2 Kicker 15L7's in a Magnum yesterday on 1 Kicker KS1250.1 for a NBA player and it was incredible!
If you like, I can post a pic. But for Hip-Hop music...you can't beat 15's for that deep bass response.

So my sound group II doesn't produce much low hard hitting base?

We went w/ 3 MB Quart Premium 10's in my c, facing forward and it's freaking awesome! I was trying to build a good overall sounding system and ended up w/ an amazing bass response that is uncomfortable to listen to.
No trunk rattle, great bass and unbelievable mid-bass and highs...this truly is our best installation ever!
Pics on interior forum tonight.

So from your experience have you found that the subs firing towards the front of the car is what allows it to sound best? I have always fired them towards the rear of the car or installed in the spare tire wheel well firing up
