thinking of removing the stock navi and selling it! Need help on install of pioneer

I am not crazy about the stock navi unit and I have a pioneer avic d3 out of my truck I just traded in which works great! My question is what has to be removed besides the head unit to reinstall the pioneer??? What about the keys less entry does it still work without the head unti being stock?

Let me know if anyone can help

From my experience in removing factory radios (a few years) i've never heard of anyone removing the factory NAV. If the pioneer works best for you then go ahead, but anyways well once you remove the deck, you're gonna have to buy the aftermarket wiring harness for radios (best buy, circuit city maybe walmart might have it) and then from there its mostly just connecting wires. be sure to connect the yellow wire which should be constant power, and the red which is accesory (so it works with the key) most other wires are just speakers, remote antenna (which you dont have) if you have any questions let me know.

Cool! My biggest thing is making sure it can be trimmed out with a kit and there is no big gaps! The pioneer just works better plus has a great ipod integration! Has anyone seen any threads on this I am sure someone has installed a D3 in the 300

Don't listen to him. You're dead on. I did a D3 install and its exactly what you said. A bunch of extra harnesses and adapters, then simply connecting wires.
