Lights Still Dimming!!

First to lett you guys know i did what everyone should do before posting. Search the site. but i have yet to find a solution to my dilemma.

I have a 2005 chrysler 300 Touring. I called the Dealership gave them my vin and they told me what size Alt. i Have in my car, which is 160 Amp Alt. I had my Battery and alt tested at the dealership. they said no problems, everything is good, output is correct. I added a small system which includes The Factory Radio, a JL 300/4, a JL 500/1, 4 Polk Momo speakers in the car and a pair of Polk DB subs wired at 2 OHMs at 500 rms. I did the BIG THREE hoping to solve the dimming, didn't have any effect. My lights dim really really noticably even on the freeway. Why? I'm not even pushing that many true watts?!?

Have you done anything with batteries or caps yet?

I believe there's a thread regarding this, where Mr. Incredible
added a cap. But what's different is, he added the cap up
front.

The problem is the distance between the alt and battery, so
you have to do something to try and compensate for.

In my area, some of the shops recommend a dual battery
setup to deal with this.

I think Mr. Incredible's solution was elegant in that he
did changes with the battery in the rear and added a
cap up front.

They are easy to install too.... just basically rout it in the middle of your power and ground wires inbetween the battery and the amps. Simple + /-

i dont agree with this at all... not to bash caps but its temp power and not a very good answer to anything most people use them and it does nothing.. i personally would never run a cap because it wouldnt help me just money not spend well. (you should check out the first link below.) Your system may be small but your amps are giving a nice draw in volts from your alt. I bet when your system is loud you speakers might even clip a bit meaning the speakers distort when maybe a big bass line comes up. THe first thing after updating your sytem to one that causes lights to dim is maybe running the big 3 wiring under the hood. not pushing sites but check wiring under the forums on sounddomain, they have a few good writeups. I think good knowledge is gained from many sources and those with experience in specific areas. No single person has an array of info convering everything people tend to specialize in certain areas.) if your system still dims then consider a higher amperage alternator and maybe a yellow top battery.

here are a couple of awsome links:
