If you want OEM you will have to buy it directly from naviteq. I believe it's $200.

I WAS expecting a disc from Damien, that was arranged and paid for back on March 26th, but he hasn't gotten back to me, nor has he returned an email I wrote to him on expected delivery date.

6 nothing -No error or anything
7 powered off and started with ae disk
8 all is well Chrysler logo then nag screen
9 remove ae disk ; insert af dvd
10 starts update (please do not turn engine off) msg -stops at 1 bar (mark) in progress bar.
11 never recovers. stays in that mode but progress bar never moves
12 power off (yes i know it says dont, but it's been an hour with no progress
12 put back in ae dvd same results as steps 10 & 11

no in motion applied. vanilla image

i heard when this happens, it has to go back to factory for refresh.

has this happened to anyone ?
i have extra care warranty ($0 deduct) so,i hope it's covered.

all dvd's are copies but the ae worked for over a year.

also, any ideas on how to explain this to the dealer? at least i'm on good terms with dealer (10 years of regular service)

is it possible that af dvd was bad, but it started the update and hung up. then it was too late to put the ae back in. but i get the same results with both disks. progress bar trying to do update but only gets one bar (mark)

i burnt a second dvd to no avail

when an older dvd is inserted (ae) when (af) is installed, what message appears on the display?
here is an interesting update to the above post.

I purchased an AE disk on flea bay. As expected , the same results. "Please do not shut off engine" with just one bar on the progress screen.

After 3 weeks, the sucker started working again . Nothing changed , just time passed.. Well, I must say i removed the disk for a week just so i would not see the error meeage. THen I put it in and after a day or so , it worked

Go figure.
Needless to say, I'll stay with the AE version for now

As a general rant however, I still can't believe how lousy the research for this Navtech software in this newest version still is. We are in a part of south Florida, that even with the housing problems, has seen over 20,000 new homes built in the last five years. There are secondary roads (avenues, boulevards etc) that still do not show up. The Wal-Mart Supercenter that has been here since 2004 is still not on their list of Wal-Mart's. There are two branches of Bank of America that have been open for three years and neither is listed. This software really has become a stepchild to both Alpine and Navtech.
Wow, the AF disc has every street here in nyc. I should consider myself lucky.

Thanks for the AF disc NYC_SRT8. It worked like a charm.

I turned on the car, removed the AE disc, insert new disc and bam upgraded.

Ok, Just to wrap it all up. I have the hacked version for in motion been working great since i got it over a year now. I want to upgrade to the new version that was just released AF,

1. Does the new version disk need to be a hacked version? or is it always hacked now as long as I go forward with the updates.

2. NYC SRT8, would you send me a copy of the new AF disk if the above is correct? If so let me know what you need, disk etc.

and Last, there are alot of people that try to burn disk with out the correct knowledge of what disk to use or the correct software to do it with. I bought mine from someone here that was doing it last year as I am one person that does not attempt something that I know I am not good at and I would never buy something like this off of ebay unless it was a factory OEM disk. someone mentioned the correct disk that can be used and they are right as the person doing it last year would only use those disk because he said the onther ones were to unstable. I dont know if that has changed but i do know I trust people on this site.
