Great write up!!!

I just picked up the AVIC-Z2 but currently have the OEM single disc CD player as well. I noticed you removed the white bracket/basket behind the radio, is there a replacement bracket/basket for nav units or can I just simply remove it like you did?

The bracket is to hold the OEM single and 6 disc player and isn't needed for the OEM nav unit or in your case a aftermarket nav. Just get the oem nav bezel and double din kit and you're set.

I did the same as you and would like to use the A?C controls also. let me know if you where able to do it. I also added a wood sterring wheel with radio controls. Can I hook up the switches with the upgraded NAV radio since I didnt have them before?
