Please HELP w/ Dash Speaker Install!!!

Ok, so I installed my MB Quart 3.5" speakers today, but am worried that I don't have the polarities correct. Someone posted in Rogue's FAQ/Install thread that on the left side, the Gray/Orange wire was positive and the Gray/yellow was negative. And on the right side, the Gray/Dk Green was pos and the Gray/Light Green was neg.

I installed the speakers following those guidelines, but then used Wesex's method of hooking up the stock speakers to a 9volt and seeing which way the cone moves. Unfortunately, the results were not what I was hoping for. When doing this to the stock speakers, the exact opposite from what I was expecting happened. When putting the pos end of the battery to the side of the speaker that was hooked up to the so called positive side, the cone moved in instead of out.

After installing the speakers, the sound was much clearer, but in order to listen to music at the level I am used to, I have to turn the stereo up much louder.

Can someone please help me and clearify which color wire the positive one is on each side. I would really appreciate it as I do not want to screw anything up in my new ride.

Thanks

Put as simply as I possibly can right now, the factory amplifier isn't putting out the wattage it claims to. You're experiencing the exact same thing I encountered, and thats why I ended up having my system done professionally with aftermarket amps eventually.

The factory Boston Acoustic system will NEVER meet your needs if you aren't happy with it from the factory.

I plan on finishing the Audio Upgrade FAQ sometime this week...

Thanks Rogue. I was hoping you or Wesex replyed to this thread, but can you please verify the color of the positive wires on each side, so I don't royaly screw something up in the mean time?

Koo. I appreciate the reassurance. Now I can cool my jets as I roll around.

Thanks again.
