Strange 2008 MyGig Event Today

I bought my 2008 300C SRT8 on 2 Jan. 2008. It has all of the MyGig radio addons (SAT, VES, SATTV, Sirius Traffic). All these services have worked fine since 2 Jan. 08. Today I went out in the car and there was no AM/FM/SAT, SATTV, and UConnect audio or services at all. The NAV worked OK. I was on my way to the dealer and noticed a message "Call Sirius". I came home and called Sirius. After answering all their stupid questions and prompts to push 1 for English, etc. I finally got a good American guy in Iowa. He listened to my problems and said there was a problem with the satellite and that there was a high volume of calls causing the problems. Also the dealer evidently did not register me with Sirius when I bought the car. I had to get a friend to go to the car and turn the car and radio on. He reset all of the services for me while I was on the phone with him. If you have a new car with Sirius you might want to make sure you are properly registered.

I called my Service Manager and he said that when the satellite is down all services are off. I cannot believe that the satellite or Sirius, in general, has anything to do with the AM/FM, or UConnest operation. I did not reset any fuses.

What do you guys think? Maybe it was "Swamp Gas"!!! Best regards, Bob.

Sounds like a load of crap. The sirius shouldn't affect anything. Some dealers don't turn on the Sirius for you, we bought a jeep and we had to do it ourselves. Maybe they are just lazy.

I agree with you but why did the AM/FM and UConnect stop working too? Regards, Bob.

Bob, I did not know you got a new ride. What did you do with your other beast? Sorry if I missed that post.

Moose.

Hi Moose. I traded in my 2006 300C with 16,000 miles on it. I loved that car but I like my SRT8 better. Best regards, Bob.

Bob,
The Sirius might have been down, but that had no impact on your AM/FM or your UConnect issues. My Sirius worked all day today, as I was driving almost the full day and had Sirius on full time.
Sounds like a radio/UConnect issue.

Good Luck!

Hi Jim. Thanks for the reply. What is strange about it is that when they sent the Sirius signal all worked OK again. Even the UConnest and AM/FM radio. I did nothing else. That's what is very hard for me to understand. Regards, Bob.

The same thing happened again today. I went out in the car and the SAT worked fine. I shutoff the car to pickup a pizza and when I came back it was dead again. No AM/FM, UConnect, SAT, SATTV. The NAV works OK. I am going into the dealer Monday. I am not a happy camper!!!! I only have about 1,500 miles on the car and bought it brand new. Best regards, Bob.

Tonight I did a Google search of MyGig failures and have seen several MyGig owners with the same problems. This has occured in several vehicle types with the MyGig. It sounds like there is a real problem with them.
